Would you guys still be able to support the Rockets if they disrespected the flag by kneeling?

I'm pretty sure the flag means many different things to many different people, not sure it can be boiled down to "either this or that".

Some of you still don't get it. It's not about disrespecting the flag. It's a peaceful protest for injustice and equality. Plain and simple.

There have been 32 people killed by the police who were unarmed in 2017. 13 were black. Now he didn't say what happened to those police officers who did this but the problem lies in what actually happened to those officers. Some people make it out to be that officers are out here hunting black people which is ludacris, but I have actually had my eyes opened that some of these guys get away with these killings. So the question is how do you fix this? Well you make sure the police responsible are punished and maybe better prepare the police for the future? It's just tough because of what a few idiot cops can do to the image of cops as a whole.

But that's not taking into account people being racially profile this was just talking about the killings specifically.

Painting with such a broad brush doesn't accomplish much. Many people have many different reason they may be opposed to the protests. Some of them may as you assume, others may not be.

People do this all the time, and I'm sure you've fallen victim to it, all it ends up doing is stifling true conversation.

 

Move this crap to the d&d .. and only white republicans have an issue with it. I wonder why.. freakin mindless drones.

 

It wouldn't negatively affect my opinion about the team or the players one bit.

If the National Anthem is such a sacred thing, why do entire stadiums full of fans always scream and whistle disrespectfully during those last ten seconds? Hell, the music of the song was stolen from a British drinking song anyway. People who put the flag and the anthem over the rights of American citizens to show displeasure with the government or other authority are misguided, IMO, because the battle the anthem depicts was being waged for exactly that.

 

Check your privilege though. This isnt a joke to some people.

Another point that needs to be recognized is that white supremacists are the ones making it worse for normal cops.

The klan and neo nazis have been actively infiltrating law enforcement for decades. It got so bad that the FBI had to conduct their own investigation on it.

By allowing these extremists to infiltrate law enforcement with the knowledge that they will be able to get away with murdering citizens without facing any sort of repercussions it enables covert domestic terrorism.

It also makes it extremely hard for the average person to decipher what really happened in a given situation.
