Nick Wright was speaking the truth. I'd link the video if I still had it. Can you post it?

Well, since it's not happening in basketball (yet), I will address football.

I basically don't watch the news anymore because it's sensational and negative (I just read articles). If you watch the news on a regular basis you might start to feel like this country has never been less safe while the opposite is actually more true.

For me, sporting events are basically escapes from the every day grind. It's meant to be a break from politics, a break from work, a break from reality. Now, the topics of discussion before/during/after the game end up going back to the protests/politics/etc, which essentially removes that element of "escape". So, personally, I lose my motivation to watch at that point.

I don't fault the players for protesting (and I was in the military and do believe the flag deserves respect), I'm not mad at them, but I am certainly not motivated to watch the games because of that stuff.

I served in the military so those guys would have the right to kneel If they want to kneel. I have ZERO problem with it.

Kneeling was a compromise from sitting to remind people that the protest is about POLICE KILLING UNARMED BLACK MEN WHICH VIOLATES THEIR 5TH AMENDMENT RIGHT TO A FAIR TRAIL.

If you think that this protest is disrespecting "the flag", which is simply a metaphorical construct/representation of the Constitution, then you have never read the Constitution and have no idea what it truly means.

I would encourage everyone to read the document for themselves:

If you agree with the kneeling you are a snowflake.

No, but where was this support when Kaepernick did it? NFL is full of hypocrites! Also kneeling won’t change a thing if it’s not accompanied by a game plan, so I hope they do more than that. I was happy the players all said it’s a team decision and didn’t let it become a big thing.

This, an I'm active duty military so miss me with the, "it disrespects the military" nonsense. Fact is most people who don't like black athletes because of the protests never liked them to begin with. They were just entertainment for them, which is why you see so much shut up and play.

That fire chief that called Mike Tomlin a n*****, you REALLY THINK he didn't feel that way before hand and this made him change his stance?

To be fair, that's what many rednecks say all the time nowadays when they see people kneeling so its probably justified here.

2 different meanings of what the flag repersents. Some ppl think the flag is a symbol of "their" country as if they hold ownership of it. So when players kneel they take it personal bc they assume "their" ppl are the only ones who fought for our freedom. Other ppl understand the country belongs to everybody & everybody deserves equality. No race of ppl can claim ownership & tell other ppl how to protest in America

Would be proud of Rocket players for protesting for the right cause

I'd like the message against police brutality and racism to stay at the forefront. The Trump stuff is a distraction imo. I like the Police when they are doing the job correctly, I don't like bad police that are hurting and killing people. Racism and law enforcement don't belong together.

    Eliminate Racism.

and it's ignorant and stupid as ****

people have every right to protest

they don't care about injustice towards African Americans, but kneeling, oh, that's a huge problem and deserves outrage

I'm honestly sick of ppl associating rednecks with neo nazis. There is a distinct difference. I would know because I have both on my street
