Their starting lineup has a rare combination of speed, length, athletcism and shooting. They are going to be very difficult to beat. I don't see how we can beat them in the playoffs with freaking Ryno as starter.
I would go out on a limb and say if Roberson could score 14 ppg they are on GSW's level, Roberson's O is still worrisome.
Roberson is their only weakness on offense but if D Wade goes there, they will be unstoppable. Morey just ****ed up big time.
We know Melo would have benefitted being next to Paul but honestly I'd rather wait a year and sign him outright without giving up any players assuming Paul stays. Lakers cannot sign 6 superstars.
Melo gave the Rockets months to do this, they didn't accomplish. Rockets I believe assume Melo would hold the Knicks hostage during training camp instead Melo didn't want to go through Knicks training camp, so he had to take whatever is best offer for the Knicks. Remember we had 3rd, or 4th team trying to get it done to get Ryno to a team that is not the Knicks. We probaly had to trade Capela to Knicks, Ryno and E.Gordon to somwewhere else. No matter CP3 is a great pickup.
We signed a couple of dudes this past summer who won't negate George and Anthony but will help tremendously on the defensive end. I know the narrative we ended up with fits your cynicism; I do admit Sam Presti is even better at Jedi mind tricks than our current President. Or he has great blackmail material: Sam Presti: "Enes Kanter and McDermott." NYK GM: "(scoffs) Why would I take that steaming bowl of crap for Carmelo? Hey, Sam, I don't know what you pulled in Indianapolis with getting Paul George, but as they say, 'I ain't no bandleader.'" Sam Presti: "(brandishing photographs) Maybe your wife would be interested in these pictures of you and a Knicks cheerleader playing pattycake?" NYK GM: "Oh, no.......not pattycake! (flipping pictures to see them) NOT PATTYCAKE!! You got a deal!"
To think PJ Tucker and Trevor Ariza can slow down the likes Melo and KD is delusional. Those guys are too good you can't stop them. You can only score with them. That's why Melo was so important.
Another embarrassing post out of you. Do you not know your Rocket's history? Did you learn nothing from Shane Battier and Chuck Hayes? Mario Elie and Vernon Maxwell? These are the types of plays we need to win championships. We had the 2nd best offense in the NBA and we added Chris Paul.
That was before superteam. This is 2017 the league is different now. And FYI LeBron was torching Tucker the whole series last year.
Melo is no longer an unstoppable player. Stop being delusional. Some of you guys don't even think critically, you are stuck in the time when these guys were actually unstoppable. I don't pretend it's going to be easy to defend OKC but some of you are way over the top dramaish on this.
