Are you kidding me? Those lines were some of the best in the NFL... multiple first day picks and free agent money devoted to it. Plus, they had zone-blocking gurus like Alex Gibbs helping to instill it. Savage would probably be just fine in that system... but behind this line, its largely hopeless for him. Also, lines do get better with more reps and even bad ones have a chance to become cohesive... the hope is that Watson's swiftness helps mask the line for now, while it continues to attempt to gel.
I'm pleasantly surprised that this hasn't been as much of a beat down. Watson is looking great, penalties hurt, but we're in it and not losing by 38 yet.
