That's the best response yet to Trump in general. Perhaps people think we need someone with Trump's mentality to be the president. Regardless of that Trump is most definitely an *******.
That won't stop the right from having their faux rage. According to them, Trump can fire anyone, including sports players from their teams. Now for more Trump
This country is so divided because finally having a black president brought out of the shadows the prejudice that had been subdued (read: hidden behind closed doors) by the civil rights movements. Trump capitalized on that and galvanized a substantial group of Americans; i.e., white voters who have some form of issue with minorities. People can cite “economics” (sorry that a lot of Americans decide to not pursue education to learn new employable skills) and “Hillary was so corrupt” (Hillary sucks) all they want, but it doesn’t matter. Without the prejudice Trump manipulated, and continues to leverage, he would never be in a position of power. We’re in a **** show. It will continue until the day a young, charismatic white male, takes over office and basically plays the anti-Trump. All racists; bigots; those who lack empathy and self awareness, and thereby have latent prejudice (hello baby boomers), will have to be continually publicly admonished by that person. Idk when that’ll happen. I’d wager that millennials (a group not without its own problems) will start to give a **** soon, though.
49ers CEO Jed York: "The callous and offensive comments made by the President are contradictory to what this great country stands for. Our players have exercised their rights as United States citizens in order to spark conversation and action to address social injustice. We will continue to support them in their peaceful pursuit of positive change in our country and around the world. The San Francisco 49ers will continue to work toward bringing communities, and those who serve them, closer together." Dolphins owner Stephen Ross: "Our country needs unifying leadership right now, not more divisiveness. We need to seek to understand each other and have civil discourse instead of condemnation and sound bites. I know our players who kneeled for the anthem, and these are smart, young men of character who want to make our world a better place for everyone. They wanted to start a conversation and are making a difference in our community, including working with law enforcement to bring people together. We can all benefit from learning, listening and respecting each other. Sports are a common denominator in our world. We all have the responsibility to use this platform to promote understanding, respect and equality." Giants owners John Mara and Steve Tisch: "Comments like we heard last night from the president are inappropriate, offensive and divisive. We are proud of our players, the vast majority of whom use their NFL platform to make a positive difference in our society." Green Bay Packers president Mark Murphy: "It's unfortunate that the President decided to use his immense platform to make divisive and offensive statements about our players and the NFL. We strongly believe that players are leaders in our communities and positive influences. They have achieved their positions through tremendous work and dedication and should be celebrated for their success and positive impact. We believe it is important to support any of our players who choose to peacefully express themselves with the hope of change for good. As Americans, we are fortunate to be able to speak openly and freely."
FACK!!! FACK!!!FACK!!!FACK!!!FACK!!!FACK!!!FACK!!!FACK!!! I FACKING HATE POLITICS IN SPORTS!!! NOT EVEN SPORTS ARE SAFE NOW?!?! Fack anybody who brings politics and other bullshit into sports. I can't even watch pre-game now because I'm going to see and hear all this reaction bullshit. I plead the nfl kickoff shows, nfl announcers, and nfl players ignore ONE single person and think about the MILLIONS of football fans who just want to have a normal Sunday but I doubt that's gonna happen. Oh well, likely no NFL for me tomorrow. The first second I hear any related commentary, I'm out. That's the only way I can show my disapproval for engaging in non-sports. Sports are supposed to be a respite but no chance of that happening tomorrow. So facking annoyed right now!!!
The payment for playing football should have the caveat that it is also a bribe to never speak ill on any social issues or anything that the bribers don't want you to talk about????? The problem is that . . . cause they get paid so much . . . .they should accept the bribe and be quiet. Rocket River
So, you're so thin-skinned that you can't handle a few minutes of commentary? Why don't you place the blame on where it needs to be- Donald Trump? Although there will always be athletes who kneel, he just made it 100x worse. Thanks, Trump!
It's called faux outrage. He couldn't give two *****. If he enjoys watching football, he'll watch it.
Here is where I get to laugh at all the Trump voters and supporters who called out Obama for being divisive. Because, what? Obama made a few comments here and there about BLM and other incidents? How innocuous those seem right now. We're not even into one year of the Trump presidency, and he is already by far, no question, the most divisive President we've ever had in the 20th or 21st centuries. And if you think this is going to be it, guess again. It's going to get worse- because you voted for and support a NUTJOB. Well done.
It's what happens when you get a divisive nutjob president in the white house for 8 years, it leads to the swinging of the pendulum and you get another divisive nut job president and one that is even worse. Hopefully with Trump we'll hit the bottom of the barrel, I had hoped that would be the case with Obama, because if it's not the bottom of the barrel, things will certainly get even worse as a result of a knee jerk reaction to how terrible Trump is that leads to an even worse decision. If things actually hit the bottom of the barrel, perhaps we'll see a return towards the direction of sanity. That said, Trump's comments about the situation with the NFL was completely accurate. If fans pick up and leave and stop showing up over the players being overly entitled disrespectful douchebags then something would actually be done about it.
Lol at the “oh the horror of politics in sports!” crowd. Absolute stupidity. Sports have been used as a platform for politics since their inception.
It is a never ending freak show: Trump trolling the liberals, liberals take the bait every single time and get outraged for the whole week. Onto next week, start over... Somehow I am enjoying all these. It is entertaining and it is free. I like free stuffs.
