So happy right now!!! There’s plenty of reasons why this is great: - no worries about re-signing 2 stars in the off-season - we still have our depth - Capela or whomever are more valuable at the trade deadline if Morey feels a great player can be had - we still have flexibility at all to improve mid-season - Anderson was key to our great offensive season and is still the same - Morey didn’t get desperate to throw in Gordon, Capela and or Ariza - Melo was always a big gamble, Olympic Melo is a big IF given his behaviour in NY - Melo was not the perfect big 3rd guy Honestly, this will go down as one of the best deals Morey didn’t make. Who else is excited?
At the end of the day, when it comes to winning in the playoffs, Trevor Ariza and PJ Tucker are both better than Carmelo Anthony at this stage in his career, especially with CP3 and Harden controlling the rock.
I still trust Morey, I believe in all these Melo talks he probably has and idea what he can get for RA + Cap/Ego/Ariza so we need to wait and see what Morey can turn RA + Cap/Ego/Ariza into before passing judgement
Remember we missed out on Parsons too? And Bosh? Parsons turned out to not give a ____ about playing basketball and Bosh can't play. Not the same situation, well Parsons is, Morey puts a value on players and sets it in stone. I think we would have messed up trading EGO or Capela for Melo, these guys have more value than that, at the trade deadline who knows what we can get for them.
I typed in "not thrilled" in an image search and that's a photo that came up. You're reading way too into things regardless of what you're thinking. There's nothing inappropriate about that or the process in which I found it.
I'm also wondering that... SJW race thread in 3, 2, 1... ANYWAY ---- I like the positivity. At first, I'm pretty annoyed at how things played out. But in the end, I just have to remind myself that Melo was a big gamble. Also --- I can't get past the fact that the West just keeps on stacking up.....
Right... it's like on one hand I want to be on a stacked team, on the other hand it's a risk... what to do...
Apparently, every team in the East is terrified of trading with other teams in the East. Knicks avoided Cleveland as if they are actually anywhere close to competing with Cleveland...the Pacers did the same thing.
Lol. Ariza / Tucker will gladly give you those 2 points a night when you need them the most. Don't overrate these guys please.
Don't underrate how important the defensive side of the ball is, or overrate a 34 year old Carmelo Anthony. We already have more than enough scoring. We need defense.
It will be a slaughterhouse in the Western Conference while Lebron has another cake walk to the Finals. (Oh, is this a positivity thread?)
