Rockets got the best player of those 4 and only gave up Beverley and spare parts. Not sure getting any one of those other three without giving up anything would have helped as much as the Paul trade.

The 1st was a shocker and I didn't get it either. But, logically, if you remove yourself from this melo drama and you are perfectly contempt with adding that first in order to obtain cp3.

Yeah I hope OKC gives us another franchise player like Harden for scraps. Always just stomping all over the Rockets in trades. Lol. The lack of logic that goes into these posts is flat out amazing.

CP3 is a top 10 player. You cannot say that with Jimmy, PG or Melo. Who did we beat last year in the playoffs? OKC. Where did we get our franchise player? OKC. Did OKC accomplish better than the Rockets after the Harden trade? No, the best both teams got was going to WCF. So to say that OKC will teach the rockets how to be a well run franchise is laughable.

Oh, I think we're much, much closer than you believe..positioned very nicely.

I agree that the long pursuit of Melo overshadowed the acquisition of CP3...seeing as it would have been checkmate. But, CP3 is the key here. On and off the court ....Along with CC. Most folks haven't a clue as to the beast he's becoming. It's been talked about how he'll benefit greatly from Paul, but so will James.

    We added Luc and P.J.

And we can make a move before the deadline.

From all this, the ringchaser magnet will draw.

It's unquantifiable as to just how good our Rockets will be, but I'd wager by years end, we'll be right there.

we've definitely improved. problem is so have okc, minny, and gs. right now i'd expect us to finish between 3rd and 5th. that is not any better than last season. and anything short of WCF means CP3 strongly considers bolting. this roster is not that athletic, not that long, and lacking in the rebounding department. we also have several key players who typically miss significant time with injury. add to this a new owner who may or may not want to pay lux tax and to be honest, may not even be able to pay it considering all the debt he's piled up -- and this franchise is not necessarily in optimal position to contend like we hoped

No I don't think so... we had to get the cap space anyway and it's much better that we traded for him rather than sign him because we acquired his bird rights.

Beverly (and his contract) is better than any of the players OKC traded. Kanter is the only debatable. And the Rockets also gave up a 1st round pick.

We gave up too much or the players we have were scrubs & most teams don't think highly of them?

Funny I was thinking the same.
If we didnt give the 2018 first rounder, would that be enough togeter with a couple of 2nd rounders?
    Anyway, water under the bridge.
Moving on. We roll with what we have and Im a big fan on Ryan Anderson in this system, so happy either way.

So the Thunder paid 40K for a Lexus and 50K for a BMW and the Rockets paid 80K for a Mercedes. Just because the Mercedes is better doesn't mean the Lexus and BMW weren't better deals.

Where in the hell are you getting these numbers from? If anything, Thunder paid 40K for a Lexus and 50K for a BMW, while we paid 70K for a Ferrari or Lambo.

Overall, this has been an OUTSTANDING summer. Adding CP3 was phenomenal, even though he's over 30, he can still ball with the best of them and he truly is that Nash-like PG that MDA's offense was built for. I've always liked Tucker's toughness and versatility. Getting Luc was an extra bonus to guard the Durant, Lebron, etc. Our depth is better and everyone will benefit from a year in the system. I think we forget that MDA has only had a year with this team. I'm super excited about this team and the season! GS is very good, but they are not invincible--a lot can happen in 82 games.

In hindsight...the answer is certainly yes, though I know the reasoning for why they did what they did, so I'm not mad about it.
