    "Just sweeten the offer!"

As @JayGoogle said, no one is giving anything good for Melo. Not Cleveland, not Houston, not Portland, not Oklahoma City. Knicks are taking the "best" of the worst.

Unfortunately for Houston, Anderson (or his contract) is the worst of the bunch.

Blazers - Mo Harkless, Meyers Leonard, Al-Farouq, Ed Davis, Noah Vonleh

Thunder - Enes Kanter, Alex Abrines, Doug McDermott, Kyle Singler

Cavs - J.R. Smith, Iman Shumpert, Channing Frye ... Cavs are NOT trading Kevin Love or the Brooklyn pick for Carmelo. Crowder can't be traded until later.

    Rockets - Ryan Anderson

Cavs, Rockets & Thunder don't even have picks to trade either until 2019 or later.

I'm under the assumption that him waiving his trade kicker for any of the teams on his list is a formality at this point...hope I'm wrong, but I don't see why he wouldn't if it makes it easier to get a deal done and get him out of NY before camp

Melo, CP3, Harden and Lebron is better than Harden,Cp3 and Bron which is slightly better than Lebron, Thomas and Love which is not as good as Ingram, George, Ball, Bron
NBA wants Lebron to go to Lakers because if anything Celtics vs Lakers finals returns. WCF is Curry vs Bron Finals is Kyrie vs Bron and Philly is probably your ECF team to play Celtics

It's he only assumption to make. Of course he'll waive the kicker to get to these new teams on his list.

This is why I think the Knicks eventually cut him.

If I'm Perry, that's what I do. Perry wants to seem like he's here to right the ship and be a competent GM, can't blame him for not wanting to take trash offers and to get a steal for his guy. What he should do (since the 2017-18 season is moot) is keep Melo on the team.

    If things go well, great.

If things go terribly, great, because all Melo will have done is given the Knicks a good draft pick in the 2018 draft, they can cut the guy in January or something, and Perry still looks like a competent GM to the other GMs that isn't going to be pushed around.

So basically the Knicks should try keeping Melo to spite the other teams offering him trash for about December-January mark, then cut him loose.

To me, if I'm the knicks GM, this makes a lot more sense then taking on horrible contracts. By the time you cut Melo your team could be tanking because of all toxicity in the locker room and you can just blame Melo for that poor season, get your top 10 pick, and move on...and if your Top 10 pick is super hyped rookie, then you can go back to selling the Knicks as a destination franchise.

I'm not sure we can fit Melo and Lebron on our team though, I think it is one or the other?

Also...we have no idea how good Ingram and Ball are going to be, this is why I think the Lebron to LA stuff is just ESPNs fever dream, just like the Knicks during his first FA which weren't ever seriously considered from Lebron

Lebron aint babysitting, remember when he got to Cleveland they immediately traded Wiggins, a hyped up but unproven player, for Love, a proven veteran star.

If Lebron goes there I bet Ingram or Ball gets traded, depending on what they do this season...but both have proved nothing in this league yet.

He has veto power but can't make the Knicks accept Ryan Anderson.

I guess, Wiggins was a super hyped player just like those two.

Ingram didn't exactly light up the NBA last season, usually superstar players come in and light it up like KAT or at least make you go "Yeah, this dude is AT LEAST an all-star for the next 10 years."

Ingram showed potential, but eventually you have to do more than that

"Doomsday" is extreme, but yeah, that will suck.

I expect it to happen knowing OKC's luck.

Even the Cavs have better offer than us, Ryno is a negative asset for the Knicks. The Cavs at least have multiple expiring contracts to offer.

Ingram grew to 6-11 and many are saying he is a baby KD. Ball is probably the next great PG in this league. If anything Lebron is very smart he has an eye for talent. He knows he can develop young guys. He wants to go to a young team to prolong his career. He admires Tim duncan a lot he wants a similar ending many finals appearances at the tail end of his career

No, Ryno's contract is too toxic that you would have to include Capela.

Be prepared for all national scribes to move OKC to the 2nd best team in the West if they get Carmelo. The articles are coming.
