Seems like there's more to this than meets the eye. Melo has put NYK in a tight spot. He's raising $1 million for hurricane victims and he expanded his trade list...he's looking like the good guy right now. This may sound a little off the wall, but I think Melo may have released this...not NYK. And I don't think he necessarily did it with the intent of expanding his list. The intent may just be positioning, so that when push comes to shove and things get a little nasty, he appears to be the good guy. Of course it could be real, but if you look at the named teams, Cleveland and OKC, they don't really have anything better to offer than us...that's the point.
If it costs other core players besides Anderson then I'm fine not making a trade. The only way he helps us is by taking Ryno's spot. We need everyone else. He's worth what he's worth and I'm ok with the summer additions we've had, which includes a superstar PG.
It should be a 8.4m trade kicker I believe What I was asking was the incoming salary number. At a salary of 34m+ what's the actually salary needed to obtain that number
Well, if he wants to play for a contender the Knicks won't get back great assets cause outside of Boston no contender has them. And while i can still somehow agree on OKC, Cleveland can easily top our offer (assuming it's Anderson + fillers and no 1st rounder) by just putting Crowder (which would take Melo spot in NY btw) in the deal.
Not only that, it's 2 teams that are focus d solely on THIS year before figuring it out next year. 2yrs at his (54m?) remaining is a lotttt. Even more so with a trade kicker. Really toughens a clubs decision and package it's willing to part with.
The 8M is probably the trade kicker spread for the 2 years left on the contract, but for this season it's probably 4M (which is basically 15% of 26), if that's correct, that would put Melo salary at 30M and require something close to 24/25 to match it i think.
Hmm, I'm not sure that's accurate. I believe the trade kicker is this year and not spread but I may be mistaken. @BimaThug @zeeshan2 @heypartner any answers on this?
Portland was in the second round 2 seasons ago. Of course, they were obliterated last season, but who wasn't against Golden State?
Yep. I'm here to chat about something that both of our teams have been involved with. I don't plan on posting vids of girls farting or anything.
