    Dolan has his hands dipped in the media. We don't have all the leverage but neither do the Knicks. Melo has all the leverage. Hang tough Melo. Houston wants you more than Portland and we'll go deep with you on the roster.

    Two things about Jason McIntyre:

    1.) He's a notorious gossiper for the sake of stirring the pot with a "unique take," and occasionally throws out complete nonsense in the process.

    2.) Why on earth would anyone associated with Carmelo put this out there? If his preference is Houston, then leaking prematurely that he'll accept a trade somewhere else completely undercuts the only leverage he has (NTC) to get to Houston. The much more likely scenario is that someone affiliated with the Knicks told Jason this, possibly out of wishful thinking and/or a prediction.

    That's not to say this can't happen. Certainly, it's possible that Carmelo could blink before the Knicks, even if I don't think it's likely. But even if he does that, I find it incredibly unlikely that anyone affiliated with his inner circle would leak it beforehand.

    If I remember back to the original Melo trade from Denver to NY it was dropped just before the trade announced that he would go to the Nets. Just like now he would go to the Blazers. Trying to get that last asset.

    Well, to be fair a lot of people was talking about CP3 to San Antonio for months, maybe a year...with that said, i don't get why Melo would chose Portland in a scenario where he decides to waive the no trade for other teams, Portland would still be way behind Cleveland. Seems like they want the Blazers to be somehow relevant, prepare for the "Lillard MVP" campain from ESPN i guess...
