Until Melo is in a Rocket game all this is FAKE news.

the Clippers were reportedly not even willing to do an offer of Austin Rivers, Pierce who has now retired, and Jamal Crawford for Melo

the Cavs never offered up much of anything for Melo and refused to give up Kevin Love

Yeah, Ryno's not a good asset, but what do they really expect to get for Melo? Let's keep in mind that he's 33 and is due over 53 mil the next 2 seasons, plus he has a NTC that would carry over to whatever team he's traded to. His value just isn't that high and never will be. He is not going to open up his list to teams like Portland and OKC either. His list has been whatever team CP3 is on and the Cavs, and the Cavs are no longer an option.

Same goes for the potential third teams.
I'm just saying more players will be available for trading in a few month. It's a response to the comment I initially quoted

Honestly for Knicks I think a buyout is a lot better than taking Anderson.

Imagine Anderson off bench with Melo.... WOW

Helps us next off-season with Lebron pursuit too

In a blog written on a company website, Knicks GM Scott Perry described how his background as an athlete, coach and executive shapes his views and approach as general manager. He offers some insight into his thoughts on the future of the Knicks. "There are no shortcuts," he writes. "Reshaping the Knicks as a championship contender will be a step-by-step process, and along the way, the plan will demand patience, as our young core of Kristaps Porzingis, Tim Hardaway Jr., Willy Hernangómez, Frank Ntilikina and Ron Baker mature. But allow me to add a twist. I don't view my job as an either-or proposition. A general manager — especially in today's world of free agency and player movement — must always have his antenna up for all possibilities." Perry didn't mention any other Knicks in his blog, including Carmelo Anthony, whom the Knicks have hoped to trade. - Ian Begley

This Portland narrative is laughable. With Melo, Portland is maybe an 8 seed. No way he ever buys into that

If we are on the 3 yard line, hope we hand it off to Warren instead of running Ehlinger again
