If Knicks / rockets told Woj the deal would be close to announced. NBA teams don't tell Woj unless they want to announce it. Maybe the Knicks aren't ready to announce the deal. Hence that's probably why Mills went to Lunch with Melo. Probably a final good bye. Close some details out the accept the Rockets deal that has been sitting for months

I would try to make it top 10 protected...we're looking to add Melo while only giving up Ryan Anderson who has negative value so u have to give up something with at least a little bit of value in this deal

 

I wouldn't be surprised if Melo's camp isn't talking with Woj/ESPN at this point after the Top 100 rank fiasco.

We already know the Rockets don't talk to Woj.

OK so the original question should have been- "would you give an unprotected 2020 pick for Melo"?
That was the real dilema here that nobody talks about. Its all about Anderson in the media, but i think the protection mark is more of the issue in this deal.
