Keep it up and you will soon have a textual harassment lawsuit to deal with.

I think that's the offer we had all along for a direct trade. I also think it can potetially be a lottery pick if the experiment is a failure, which it can be.
Its a risky move on the Rockets side as well and not being discussed enough.

I don't understand that line of thinking.

We have James Harden. He alone has shown time and time again he not letting this team miss the playoffs.

If we got Melo it may or may not work (I personally think it would be sensational), but look at what Harden has done and the players around him in the past.

Harden will never miss the playoffs in a Rockets uniform.

    OK, so here's my reasoning.
Not saying we shouldn't do it, but saying there is a risk factor that can get us in trouble if we try to reshuffle after that season.
    Lets assume the worst.
Melo comes, Siding with Paul, pushing Harden out of the center of power.
    That is a reasonable scenario.
Ego battles and all that ****, we've been through it before. You can add some potential injuries, after all none on this group is very durable other than Harden.
    In a nutshell, shitty season.
Paul leaves, Melo leaves, Harden is not happy and we dont have any assets to get him a better team.
He can do one more year Westbrook style but he'll get tired of it, and he'll be 30.
That 2020 pick can be just about when this team is trying to rebuild in case of a failure this year.
I think its still a risk worth taking, but I dont think its a no brainer.
And I dont think that its talked about in the media, that it can lead to a high draft pick in case this experiment fails.

The bad thing about working nights is I sleep during the morning and early afternoon.. I'll probably be sleeping when the Melo trade is announced.. With that said, things are heating up on the two yard line.

I can understand thinking of that worst case scenario, but I think we should all feel pretty confident that there is absolutely no player (including LeBron) in this league who is pushing Harden back from being front and centre in Daryl's and all of managements eyes as the face of this franchise.

We've been ridiculously loyal to James, he's repaid us in spades for that loyalty (of course there has been some blemishes). It is a great relationship between organisation and superstar.

I personally just don't see any way in that Paul (and definitely not Melo) can convince management to back them over James.

I am loving the camaraderie already between James and Paul. There's absolutely no doubt we're going to see some yelling during the season because both their personalities are going to clash, but in the end they both know what it is going to take to win, and that's sacrifice. I think we have the Warriors to thank for that. I'm just not getting the vibe that there'll be any ego battles between these two. If anything, the problem I'm seeing is they both enjoy setting others up so much there's going to be teething problems to determine who needs to hog the ball and take over and when.

IF Melo were to finally make his way here, I can't see him leaving unless it's the Rockets' decision. He is completely against 29 other teams in the League and has his mind and heart set on only the Rockets. Moving forward there's only the Warriors who have a better immediate future than the Rockets. Melo seems to be done with the face of the franchise tag and being relied upon as the #1, which is why Houston is the only place he wants to be (coinciding obviously with his relationship with Paul). He'll still get his boat load of shots, but he'll be the third in line for the media to pick on. I don't see much changing in a year (barring a locker room brawl) for him to ultimately decide there's another franchise he'd rather play for.

And on Paul, if what the most recent article says can be trusted about how he barged into the Iguodala talks, there's no chance in hell he's out of here come next offseason. That's the whole reason why we eventually gave up a fair few players in a trade to bring him here instead of as a free agent, to secure his long term future.

You're obviously entitled to your view on things without a doubt! My view is just that there's other things we should probably worry about first before thinking about this scenario.

Absolutely. You seize the moment (this is the moment), not worry about what's going to happen years and years from now.

I absolutely do not give up my 2020 1st rd pick. There is no reason to. We have all the leverage and this is probably why the deal hasn't been done and why ny has been holding out.

The reason we should keep our pick is because, there is a good chance our big 3 just isn't good enough. If we trade it now we really have a way to improve the team going forward.
