Syracuse head coach Jim Boeheim thinks the Knicks would have been better off letting Phil Jackson complete the Carmelo Anthony trade before he was fired. "Now the new guys (Steve Mills and Scott Perry) are going to be held responsible for the deal and nobody's going to give much up [for Anthony in a trade]. So they're going to end up not getting a lot for him and it's really because of what Phil did in poisoning the air," Boeheim, who coached Anthony in college, told SNY.tv's Adam Zagoria. "….I think for Carmelo Anthony and the Knicks, the best thing is for him is to go someplace where they can start over. [The Knicks] need to start over. They have young guys and it would be best for him to get with veteran guys and he's still got two or three great years left. They can't win in New York for two years, three years." Both Anthony and the Knicks hope that a trade is completed. Anthony, who has a no-trade clause, prefers to go to the Houston Rockets.

Seems like more basketball minds agree or becoming vocal the smart thing to do is move him before training camp. That's hopeful and cool. Just have to wait and see if Knicks agree. Knicks new FO is a big unknown right now. No track record. So .... we wait.

Knicks needs to give it up already. Knicks made it clear to everyone that Phil was the reason for the bad relationship between Melo and Knicks. Move on already and send Melo over!

Morey has got the Knicks by the cajones. Multiple posters in here would have included Gordon, Ariza or Capela by now. These posters are called r****ds.

Kind of rough since the deal has not gone through yet.

With Melo's ranking now down to 37. I really have no idea what the Knicks are expecting from
The whole basketball world realizes this. The only problem is there will always be players that want to join the knicks simply to live in NYC. So I really don't think they care whether or not Melo is happy. He is an expiring contract in their eyes at this point and their circus attraction.

This heat sucks. When will summer finally end? Can a cold front just hit Houston already?

Actually the NFL season concludes before the NBA season. So, the Texans have next.
