    On 9/5 Wiley said his in house sources said the trade would happen in 2 weeks:


    And then today someone asked him for an update:


    And now people seem to be anxiously waiting for his update.

    If Melo isn't going to open his trade options for any team other than the Rockets(I hope) then it doesn't make much sense for the Knicks to wait to trade him in season. What if he gets hurt? What if he gets off to a slow start? Their bet option is to trade him before training camp starts if they intend to trade him at all.

    In the end it all depends on what they would eventually get back for him, cause if they would only get back a couple of bad contracts and one or two 2nd rounders it actually make sense for them to keep him even with the risk of an injury, especially for those who are saying "they should just take Anderson bla bla..." (which seems like is not what they're talking about though) cause yeah, Anderson is actually a guy who played more than 65 games only two times in 9 years, and his contract is one or two years longer.
