    Nice win.

That play Altuve made on Phillips in the 8th was ridiculous.

Good job, 'Stros. Didn't watch the game, but it looks like Peacock pitched another gem. So is our starting playoff rotation Verlander-Keuchel-Peacock or Verlander-Peacock-Keuchel? The other two spots, I dunno. McHugh at number 4. I guess McCullers at number 5.

Hinch is clearly trying to get Giles ready for an expanded on demand postseason role which is smart. Hes been far and away our best pen option for a while. We cant keep him reserved for just 9th inning save situations.

Pompous post is pompous... and stupid. Reality says, the LAST thing we need is the Astros f****** up like they've done for 60 years.

If other HOUSTON fans come here, it's likely because the team is doing well.

Respectfully enlighten them with baseball knowledge instead of knocking them. The guy wasn't even talking noise against the team.

Astros win and Texans win. All is right with the world after what had to be the worst regular season weekend in Houston sports history.

No one got eliminated last weekend. A star didn't have a season ending injury.

Just in terms of results from the 3 professional teams playing over the weekend. Astros swept, Dynamo lost at home to worst team in MLS, Texans got smoked over a weekend where the city really needed some good to happen.

I get the record is bad, but those games had very little meaning (not a Dynamo fan so this may have been a more important game). I cursed the A's and moved on.

Football only plays 16 games. Every game is meaningful.

Only if you think the team is any good. If it's 3-13 vs 4-12, it's not terribly meaningful. :D

In addition, an early season unexpected loss gives you 15 opportunities for an unexpected win, whereas a week 12 unexpected loss is far more problematic.

If you're 1-1 is the loneliest number still the number 1., or are you happy just to have negative 1 at you side regardless of the fact she can't cook And she may not be very pretty.

Depends if you've already had an unexpected win ;)

This. Texans may or may not make postseason, but that will likely depend on rest of division cratering. If this is a Super Bowl caliber team by end of the season, I will be shocked, and they likely don't need this win to lock up the Division.

Jaguars vs Titans for division lead, meaningful early season battle on Sunday.

Texans can win their division without its cratering.

It's ignorant to chastise their competition when the Astros' division is similar level.

WTF are you talking about? Texans bandwagoner? Go check and see if I EVER post in the Texans forum. I think they're the most doomed-to-averageness team in Houston.

I do think Verlander should start it off. I just wanted to acknowledge that Keuchel may be our other Cy Young winner, but Peacock has been amazingly consistent, and has damn near kept this team glued together in a lot of cases while our other starters are injured or spotty. Guy deserves serious credit. Keuchel will obviously still start over him.

Troll? Hardly. I'll admit that I've been pretty negative, but I'm not goading anyone. Go get the bug out of your ass before you level baseless accusations against someone.

I wouldn't say the divisions are similar level. The Astros' division is probably 3rd overall (behind NL West and AL East, but better than AL Central, NL Central, and NL East). I think the Texans' division is generally worst or second worst the last few years. It's the only division you go into the season thinking 9 wins will win it.

I know we're winning at the moment and all but how many damn 1-2-3 innings have we given them tonight?
