been watching a lot of Harden OKC highlights lately...this is gonna be the easiest the game has been for him since his 6MOY season where his efficiency and field goal percentages were ridiculous...he got so many good looks

Sorry I said you were in denial. I should have just said we are on two different levels of worry about this Potato Head news. I'm truly not trying to win some argument...rather expressing my worry in a manner using trade scenarios.

Hopefully, you can read this long post and come away thinking that I'm not really trying to argue with you,

OK, we both agree that NYKs probably are considering tanking. We also know they also want to trade Melo. I'm not saying one tanking plan is better than another. I'm just saying it is not a reach to say there is more than one way. And I'm saying CLE has a lot more assets than before to make some fancy Morey-type trade. The only reason I mention Morey is just to illustrate that simple trades are not the only way things get done in the NBA...and just to say my one trade idea surely isn't the only thing ppl can think of.

It's nice for us Rockets fans to critique the various scenarios to cut them down at the knees and preserve our hope as the one and only destination for Melo. I'm with you. I can throw a wrench in all obvious scenarios right there with ya.

But tlhen my fear hits me, and I know these GMs have been doing some fantastical blockbusters this summer, mainly due to the power of players to get their way ... and Lebron ain't happy....you can smell it.

I agree. Love for Melo doesn't make much sense (unless it gets Lebron to stay), and someone said it didn't work before anyhow. I assumed that was because NY wants to tank and doesn't want Ryno or even Love. I see Love and Porz as middle of road purgatory. If you say it was never an offer, then I believe you. I stopped following this once the Irving stuff started and Melo took CLE off the table.

Mark me down as just not as sure as you that CLE can't make sumpin happen with those assets. I see many more possibilities to worry about than just a simple Love for Melo. Saying I'm more worried than you isn't really arguing: Is it?

Cleveland still has better assets than us even if they don't include the BKN pick or Love simply because the contracts they would use aren't 3 years long. They could definitely outbid us if Melo was willing to go there and Cleveland want him. However, it doesn't seem like that is the case, not sure from which side.
