Since you say Love doesn't really make sense and that deal has been refused for months, then it sounds like you in denial that they are back at the table talking something new.

We can't just sit here and make declarative statements as fantasy GMs to say, "No way CLE gives up that BKN pick or Isaiah", but yet pretend Love is the only option (despite it never working before). If they truly are back at the table making offers, then I'd have to guess that the most obvious reason is they are willing to discuss something that hasn't been discussed before, and that points directly to their two new big assets (Isaiah or the BKN pick). It's not like Lebron gives a crap about that BKN pick.

Since either those have the potential to outbid us, I think you just don't want to think about it, and stick to "Love isn't happening" just to qualm any worries you might have.

I'm sticking with Melo doesn't want to go there anymore. But I can't deny CLE can now outbid us in three different ways, especially if Lebron forces them to offer that BKN pick.

How am I in denial? My stance is that Cleveland is nothing for me to be worried about until I see info that Melo has added them to his list and they are offering up Kevin Love.

I'm sorry, but it's delusional to think that they'd give up the BK pick for Melo, c'mon now. Melo's value is nowhere close to being that high. What is NY gonna do with IT? He will be out for months, will turn 29 this season, and will be a free agent next summer. NY is gonna want to pay him his next contract while they're rebuilding? IT is gonna want to stay with a sorry team? Why would Cleveland give up their potential starting PG to add another forward? They already have Love and Lebron eating up the majority of the minutes at the SF and PF position.

Offering that pick for melo makes no sense for them. That won't happen.

He really does. Westbrook also looked like he wasn't particularly interested in passing the rock, although that could be the selection of clips, of course. Harden really looks good, both stronger and lighter (which will help him at both ends of the court). What a load! CP3 looked like I would expect. Excellent. If we do get Melo, he's going to be draining a heck of a lot of corner threes. I like his size, and like Chris and James, in what little I've seen, the dude looks to be in very good shape.

Really hard not to get excited about the possibilities.

imo, it's delusional to think it is news for CLE to just be offering the same thing. I'm not criticizing you. I'm on your side. Only difference is that I'm addressing my fears, where you seem in denial that CLE may be talking something new (ie, not the same Love deal), now that they have two new shiny objects.

You are constructing a world where there is NO WAY something new might be offered. And the way you are doing it now is to just criticize anything that doesn't align with your theory that they will only offer Love, yet you admit Love has never worked before ... to qualm your fears. And even disregarding that Lebron doesn't give a crap about that BKN pick, and might make they use it in trade, you aren't even thinking that maybe the deal is expanding with the two new bright and shiny assets to trade.

CLE could easily expand the trade to involve more players and teams, beyond anything we've heard before.

That's why you are reassuring us that CLE will never outbid us, since they haven't, yet. Like, "Love isn't going to get it done, it never has...so I ain't worried." But that simply denies that there is anything new being discussed.
