Yep. It's alarming that B'OB thought this would be good enough in the first place. Savage just takes too long to read the field and has horrible pocket awareness. Feels like nearly every play with him dropping back has fumble potential. Oline is bad but sometimes a good QB can make a bad OLINE look decent. People are kidding themselves if they think Brees or Rogers have never played behind a bad oline before or Manning.
Bill O'Brien would rather have a garbage qb than a talented qb like Watson because if he fails with a proven winner like Watson, it makes him look like the crappy offensive mind he really is. Rather than with Savage he can simply say, Tom wasnt good enough to get the job done get stealing dem checks Bill
He likely wants an extension given that he probably knows he won't be worth one when his deal is up, I would think if all he wanted was the 2 years guaranteed, he'd get it.
Also, IDGAF about Watson's confidence. If he's a gamer one bad game or two isn't going to destroy him. That destroys guys like Carr sure, but if we are going to suck throw him into the fire, if he fails, oh well, draft another QB.
I doubt Duane Brown can handle that Campbell guy. Savage should just drop back more to buy himself time. And just call quick easy plays.
I would not pay Duane Brown anything. He is holding the team hostage at this point. I do blame management for not addressing the OL position and neglecting it time and time again just as they did with the QB position all these years. Rick Smith and Bill O' Brien have got to go after this year
That's what happens when your starting qb doesn't earn it and is handed the job. Even Savage doesn't think he can do the job. He says he does publicly but all behavior and body language says otherwise. Privately the team feels the same way but cat speak up.
Getting disgraced at home by Jacksonville will cause some dickstepping. Not going to be a lot of positive comments nor should there be.
