If you look at the Rockets who have their numbers retired, their tenure and accomplishments were substantial

Calvin and Rudy T have like 30 years with the Rockets

Moses took the Rockets to the Finals and won the MVP

Dream. This place wouldn't be here without him causing inception to a young Rockets fan who is known as Clutch

The Rockets should absolutely retire T-Mac's jersey if they want to dishonor Hakeem, Rudy and all the other retired jerseys, thereby rendering a retired Rockets jersey a meaningless, hollow joke of an accolade. In 35 seconds.

Which is why I don't believe Tmac's jersey should be retired...

Great player, great Rocket when it comes to individual skill, but he ultimately didn't accomplish anything for the Rockets organization or the city of Houston. Maybe if turns into a JJ Watt fundraising maestro we can reconsider his contributions to the city.

Tmac and Yao don't belong in the Hall of Fame.

There are always exceptions, but Yao was a major figure in the organization and incredible human being. He was beloved by the city and made Houston a VERY popular team oversees which still influences Chinese viewers today. So really Yao isn't an exception, he provided something great for the organization and therefore was totally deserving of having his jersey retired.

Of course you have to resort to off field stuff because T mac absolutely ***** on the unathletic, fake tough guy, non leader JJ Fatt on the court / field

    1. Tmac led his team scoring 13 points in 33 seconds. Fatt led his team to a 2-14 EMBARASSMENT and 0-30 HUMILATION at HOME
    2. Tmac quit on the Rockets a couple of games. Fatt quit on eggball Texans an entire season!
    3. Tmac is real and contributes from heart. Fatt contributes for media attention as he is a phony.
    4. Tmac Houston legend. Fatt Waukesha McD's legend

    T Mac >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> JJ Fatt

    4. didn't go on record saying he wished he never left {team/city} or played with {player with more success}

Dude played his entire career for the Rockets from rookie to retirement.

    486 Games

Tmac played 303 for the Rockets and 295 for the Magic

Yao's tenure with the Rockets was the most pure.

Both Tmac and Yao were failures as players here. One couldn't get out the first, the other couldn't get past the second. Harden had already accomplished more than those two brittle fools.

    This is true.
But the love for Yao Ming is very strong with the fans and organization.
As far as being a special athlete, he was the only Asian NBA player to culturally bring basketball fans from all over the world together.
Actually he still is the ONLY Asian NBA player to do that.

    5. didn't go on record picking the Lakers to advance past his own team (Yao, Artest, Battier, Scola, Brooks) during the WCSF. Absolutely shameful.

McGrady is POS teammate deserving of nothing.

Oh, he was the highest paid player on our team. You pay your 'leader(s)' on the team that much.
Not exactly what you say as a leader even if you don't believe your team will win.

Hell no! He's not a Rockets legend, Yao is because of his big impact and what he had to overcome.

I really don't understand why you're arguing with me...I am in agreement, though just playing for one team doesn't get your jersey retired.

I don't really pay as much attention to the board as I once did...is this your shtick?
