Just so I understand... you think the teams with the six best records in baseball are the favorites? Huh.... that is..... man, solid work. Top notch. You should do this for a living.

Please don't stop what is working.

We can't discount the Cubs. They aren't the juggernaut they were last year, but the talent remains.

Deep down, I hope the Yankees can pass Boston, and Boston get eliminated in the WC game. Then by some miracle we avoid Boston & Cleveland.

I wasn't picking favorites or making forecasts. Stating the obvious was the intention.

By the way, your thread post review here is pretty insightful as well. Keep it up ;)

These days off when we are so hot is a real bummer. I need my fix.

First time a team has won 13+ games in back to back seasons since yankees in 1961 or something...

I'm not gonna lie.....even though I get it, and am used to it, it's pretty annoying that ALL national radio can talk about is the ****ing Indians. I know, they've won 14 in a row (and 15 after Kluber destroys the **** Sox yet again), but nobody cares about the fact that we've righted our ship, and have reeled off 7 in a row at time when we needed it the most. The offense is still on pace to break records, yet all anyone can talk about is how bad the Dodgers suck, and how great the Indians and Diamondbacks are. Oh well, we just need to keep plugging away and winning ball games, and the rest will take care of itself. Ok, end of petty rant.

Console yourself with the fact that it's good for us that they're talking about those teams and not us. We need to quietly lay in the weeds until October. Let them talk about us then.

If the Indians aren't going to lose then we just gotta win 'em all.

I knew the Indians would make a run (not 14 in a row but 95 type win team) because they just have too much talent. They win the WS last year without unbelievable injuries.

Let them talk about the Indians, when the playoffs start we will get plenty of coverage. The Astros versus Indians playoff series would likely be one for the ages. Both teams are WS worthy.

3 games is a lot to make up with only 23 remaining. Still have an advantage.

Indians winning with almost half their lineup .700 OPS -- '05 Astros had four too.
    ____

I'm tripping on the fact we aren't even mentioned as Top 2 AL contenders. Three different national shows omitted HOU today.

This mentality is somewhat pathetic, but not your fault. Our teams have conditioned that mind frame.

It's cool letting the big swang hang

Off topic, but I just notice on CLutchfans that there is no MLB general thread discussion but there are NBA and NFL and College football threads but there are no MLB discussion going on? Surprised there are no threads about the Detroit tigers collapsing and the Indians and diamondbacks on a major tear besides on this Astros thread?

Yep... I got reprimanded for starting a post in the Astros thread for commenting that Aaron Judge may turn into a baseball version of JLin.

The Astros got a TON of coverage early when they were obliterating teams, and rightly so. And they were the talk of baseball a week ago when they landed Verlander.

    Also, 15 > 7.

No, I understand. Cleveland deserves kudos. I guess I'm more annoyed at the fact that all these pundits HAVE to make hyperbolic statements like, "Cleveland is CLEARLY the favorite out of the AL" or "In a 7 game series, there isn't a single 1-2 punch in the AL that can match Kluber-Carrasco." The nanosecond memory span of these guys is obnoxious.....

But as I said, I know it was a petty rant, and it really doesn't amount to anything. We just need to keep winning games.

Says the guy who has 3 posts in the Astros forum this year

Astros still 5 games behind the Dodgers. Cleveland is closer to Houston than that.

This is a basketball forum, and that is why there has always been a place to discuss it. Clutch changed it a few years ago to break out other sports forums. There is a General MLB Discussion thread in the Other Sports section. Since the Astros forum is where most of the baseball discussions take place, it is a more popular place to hang out in.

    http://bbs.clutchfans.net/index.php?threads/2016-mlb-discussion-thread.272876/page-15

Football got its own section because of its immense popularity and a more diverse fan base (there are lots of non-Texans football fans here).
