The families won't be broken up if the parents who brought them illegally go back too. And hopefully the youngsters have learned a skill that will provide for said family.
are you telling the world that its open season for coming to the US? As long as you can get here you can stay? Canada only lasted months before Trudeau change his tune from taking everybody to Canada being a country of laws
No, just as putting the parents in jail (and removal of "stolen" material goods) for that criminal activity is not punishment to the kids, but to the parent. The punishment is clearly directed toward the parent, which may or may not have an impact on the kids. Jail time for the kids would be punishment for the kids. Deporting kids is clearly punishment directed toward the kids.
It's fascinating to me that while our friends and allies, and Russia, by the way, are dealing with declining populations, the population of the United States continues to grow at a reasonable rate. Why? In large part because of immigration. That population increase is healthy. Deporting 800,000 productive citizens who are here through no fault of their own is an act of cruel madness. It will cost this country billions of dollars and hammer our nation's productivity, just so some extremists can slap each other on the back and declare, "We did it! We got rid of those ****ers!"
being against DACA does not mean you are against immigration. they aren't citizens plenty of people have told you why they want DACA gone. try listening instead of making up this crap. Your inability to respond to opposing arguments is not compelling.
True but there is a strong correlation. I'm not for DACA but I don't have a history of the racial shenanigans that Republicans have exhibited so I can understand why people have the correlation. You can't talk about the rule of law out one side of your mouth and then look the other way all the time on racial justice.
The problem with DACA is that it was always a bandaid. It was a bandaid that was necessary due to poor leadership. This problem is nothing new and it has been legislation that has been protested and fought for a long time. I am pissed at everyone and I'm tired of the back and forth between both parties. I have many friends who are affected by this decision and naturally I am extremely upset by Trump's decision. I look at his decision and I understand that this is nothing more than a political game by a man who has gotten tired of losing. This is one easy way to appease his supporters. I see the arguments from those that oppose it and I know you guys just don't get it. We are talking about young adults that have been here their whole life because of a decision made by their parents. I know, "they can go back to their country and try to come here legally", but how can you ask someone to do something that is not guaranteed? I also find it comical that you guys think you can put their shoes on and say, "Well I'd go back and work over there and go through the legal process." It's easy for you guys to sit behind a computer desk and type that ****. We all know damn well that the majority would not be able to do this. I get it, you guys are stuck trying to argue that they are breaking the law. I agree with you, they are here illegally, however, why would we consciously kick out members of society that are trying to make a better life for themselves and are positive contributors to this country? Why is it that we can't make an exception for people that did not choose to come here, but now are acculturated or assimilated to the culture in this country? Speaking for those that would be deported back to Mexico, there is nothing for them over there. The economy sucks. The jobs sucks. The pay sucks. The government is corrupted and the ****ing cartels have a grip in a lot of towns over there. You are asking for someone that may not have anything over there to move over there, adapt quickly, find a job and then start the process of getting a visa. You all damn well know the process is not going to be a few months. We are talking about years here. It sickens me that you pretend to have compassion, when you greedy mother****ers only care about being right. I'm willing to compromise. You guys want to build an idiotic wall that for whatever damn reason you think is going to keep immigrants out, then go right the **** ahead. You guys give me these 800,000 folks that will help bring in the needed revenue and you can have your ****ing piece of **** worthless wall. I am compassionate because I actually understand the situation in Mexico. I understand why people try to come over here. You guys may hang out in Cancun, Los Cabos or any of your other American tourist towns and think that life is good, but no, life is not good over there, so it pisses me off to see you guys try to argue something that doesn't exist.
People who are against sending them back seem to only be concern with the present, but what about the future. What can we do to deter future action of this kind from happening again and again? At some point we are going to have to put our foot down and said no more, from my experience it is better to not put off things that needed to be done. I feels bad for them but at the same time we have to be stern, so no more parents will think of doing this again in the future, we have to show them that their action will lead to their kid's future being worst off and not better. PS: to all the people out there who doesn't mind have the dreamers cutting in line, please show a sign when you are in line for anything. So i will know its OK to cut in front of you and get what i want before you, the longer the line the better
like you said, are you propose an open season to come to the US? because i know of places that are much worst off than mexico. I certainly don't blame people for wanting a better life but we also have to protect our way of life. The US is like a boat floating in the ocean full of drowning people, if we left everybody on then the boat will sink.
OK, let's see Today, DACA betrayal is a cruel, morally repugnant, treacherous act of extreme cowardice to appease white supremacist shitheads, and pretty much nothing else. Tomorrow, it's going to be the same thing. Thanks for really making me think. Next time you are in a line AND A ****ING CHILD IS FORCIBLY BROUGHT INTO THE LINE AND THEN GROWS UP IN IT FOR 20 YEARS yeah ok he can cut. I can't even can't. I remember the days when there was at least a barely logical argument made in good faith here and there... but now it's just morons and trolls and frustrated non-sex havers, as far as the eye can see.
what make you think is to appease to white supremacist? I am certainly not white and i am a legal immigrant. What these people are doing now is a slap to me and my family member who can't stay in the US because they want to follow the laws. I don't know about you but it is also my cousin's dream to be able to stay in the US but they know that sometime you can't get everything you want in life. Are you telling me that these dreamers are more important than my cousins? I still haven't seen any solutions from the dreamer supporter, just let them stay let them stay chant. If we don't fix this problem now we will have the exact same argument 10-15 years from now.
I'm not proposing an open season, I'm proposing that we get behind legislation that will provide for these 800,000 people to stay here and let them live their life. These people are not "stealing" jobs from anybody and are not the reason for wages stagnating. If the legislative and executive branch feel that a wall will be the most effective at preventing immigration, then so be it, let them have their wall. I can deal with that. We need to just find a way to limit immigration, because we aren't going to stop it. We need to reduce the amount of people that live here illegally and we need to restrict the number of entries. I'm fine with working with a solution that makes everybody happy. It's a give and take relationship and I understand that. I'm fine with increasing border security and we also need to keep track of people who overstay their visas (since this is other major reason for large number of illegal immigrants in this country). The long term solution should be to reduce the number of illegals in this country, but short term we need to keep the dreamers here.
Yes, absolutely they are. They are here, serving in the military,in many cases. They have been here forever. THey are Americans. Your cousins in your **** shoveling hovel back in Crapistan are not. #USA
