As long as the lower bowl gets filled up before game time, and we get rid of those communist chinese uniforms and revert back to the ketchup and mustard, I will be fine with it.

i don't live in houston, and i know nothing about him personally (other that what i've read in this forum this summer). for all i know he is as big a diehard fan as we are and will go all out. what i do know is that is core business is going to face crippling headwinds and at the same time he bought this franchise at the top, so there's a good chance he'll be underwater with that mortgage for the foreseeable future. let's just say i don't envy his current position.

Don't y'all think that whether Tilman would or would not pay the luxury tax is something that was discussed during the sales process? Would Le$ sell to someone who is all of the sudden gonna be cheap while the Rockets are this good? There were multiple bids starting at at least 2B that were placed so Le$ had options.

I think he got a steal of a deal even at 2.2 billion. If the Clippers sold for 2 billion I think the Rockets should sold easily for double. Rockets franchise isn't only worth .2 more. Rockets has so much more value with the history of the franchise and success it's had over the years. Also add to the fact right now we probably the 2nd best franchise in the league. With 2 all stars in the back court leading us. One them MVP runner up. Also have a great GM and a coach that set the pace years ago for today's nba. Can't forget what this franchise did for the NBA in countries like China. I think it was a steal of a deal I thought they go for 4 billion easily. Maybe around 3.2-3.5 the least. My opinion.

Forget about the sleeves for now. His arms must be long, and his pockets must be deep.

"She knows all about Fertitta and immediately viewed the sale of the Rockets to the man as a disaster."

So you would disagree that this was presented as an assessment of the sale?

"Viewing the sale as a disaster" has nothing to do with any sort of analysis of how the new owner will turn out?

vegas hotels/casinos are entirely dependent on discretionary spending, which if you look at the retail industry as an indicator, is in freefall. and for restaurants there is direct data depicting the ongoing 17month carnage:

If that is truly your stance then you need to realize that comparing key roster moves like retaining CP3 to a decision to not have lemon slices on every plate is doing your side a disservice.

Any rational person can see that those two situations are in no way equal and I'm sure Morey (if retained) would have zero problems articulating as much to TF when that time arises.

That's two replies in a row that you have put words in my mouth that I didn't say. First you said I was "telling people what they know," which I never did. Now you say I equate roster moves to saving lemon slices. A completely false, gross misrepresentation of what I said.

Your posts in this thread reek of fear. Sure, you can assume that Morey and TF will be on the same page. You can assume that Les made the sale under the impression that TF will make all the moves in the best interest of winning. Those are bold assumptions. This man has a well documented history of putting $ over everything. I realize that the logical people in this thread are scaring you with their "doomsday talk" (LOL u scared) but we are just being real. This man is far from an ideal owner. His (lack of) liquid assets and business style are cause for concern.

We all hope for the best.

A point for optimism, from the ESPN article:

That's acting as a rabid fan, not a smart businessman (and I mean that in a superlative way). 50 days for a deal this size is incredibly fast and only possible if you're willing to spend extra to expedite due diligence, or skip a few steps. Either way, bodes well for his stewardship.

    220,000 million dollars

Les was doing $1 hot dogs and beer.

Will tillman do the same? Can he lower ticket prices too. I will buy double if he cuts them in half and attend two games this season :D
