Except currently they can get work permits. They lose that. It's not simply going underground. It's losing your job, career, etc.. People with legitimate careers, paying taxes, lose everything.
Right, it makes this group of illegals no different than they were 5 years ago before the executive overreach attempted to unilaterally grant them some kind of legal status. So really, it doesn't do anything.
Seems like a far better way forward than having it shot down in the courts. Not sure why the amnesty advocates are so angry.
Just another instance of Trump going back on his word, like with the LBGT community. At least it will be interesting to watch the GOP continue to trudge along without a plan or a unifying factor like their hatred of the Muslim, Kenyon dude. Another issue that will further cause the GOP rift to widen.
No compassion for Americans and legal residents, I see. Good for you, B-Bob. Hope the quartet profits stink for you, too.
Not wanting DACA to end is in no way a lack of compassion for Americans or any other legal residents.
Lol.... we got low unemployment.... are you going to tell me DREAMERS are taking jobs too.....? Either Trump still isn't using the REAL employment numbers, but the Obama black magic, or illegal immigration just isn't that big of a deal from an employment stand point. You pick.
What the **** does that even mean when applied to B-Bob? Are you out of your ****ing mind? With all due respect.
Obviously trolling, and or playing the Trump line that this will somehow get jobs back in the arms of lowly Trump voters in the rust belt states. They are going to spout the line that if you take jobs away from Dreamers, it will give them back to those white Republican voters.... which shows a complete lack of understanding of how our economy works. Only jobs this will increase are ICE agent jobs which are government jobs, and will cause more companies to move overseas which hurts everyone. Trump fans are complete idiots if they actually believe deporting a million DACA participants will be good for them or the country.

That is what they think, Seriously. Can anyone do a gif of Melania and Ivanka cleaning toilets in a Trump Hotel. Wish I could.
If the kids that have spent the majority of their life here and call the USA home. If they are serious about living here. When they become a young adult wouldn't they want to do every thing in their power to become a legal citizen?
Because now you have to rely on a incompetent GOP majority Congress. I always wonder if people even graps the length and difficulty level of trying to become a citizen. DACA at the very least allowed young adults and children to not fear attempting to go through the process because they would t fear deportation. Now they are just going to scurry like roaches. Amazing foresight this administration has.
I would think this is something worth going the extra mile for. If they are serious about being here.
I'm not so sure about this - unlike Obamacare and other issues, all the Dems will vote for this. So you really only need a few dozen GOPers in the House and 12 GOPers in the Senate, along with the leadership. They *can* pass dreamers legislation fairly easily, and they can do so ignoring the crazies on the right. Trump will back it, so they don't have to worry too much about criticism from the base. Whether they will is a different story, but given Ryan and McConnell's comments, I suspect you'll get some kind of legislation passed, which ultimately is better than an executive order in the long run (similar to DADT repeal).
I'm torn on this. Firstly it will save the country billions and will create jobs by default and as a friend of descents of properly immigrated parents and hearing about how hard it was for them to go through that process I was always a bit leery of daca. On the other hand its kinda ****ed up that kids are gonna get screwed and it kinda feels like we're watching the creation of an alternate universe where America has even more enemies and would probably need to build some sort of physical boarder. Immigration reform needs to be rewritten, while I'm compassionate to refugees and others escaping war torn or poverty stricken environments, it shouldn't be as easy as just being an underage illegal immigrant
In my experience, the most anti-illegal immigration people that I have ever met are legal immigrants. Usually those who REALLY support illegal immigration are either close to illegal immigrants themselves or they are your typical liberal who "feels" instead of thinking. Basically when you are or are close to a person that went through the hassle of doing things the right way, you don't have a lot of patience for the pricks that just threw up the middle finger and snuck in the back door.
