With the unmitigated hate Harden gets from all sides, will Harden even be recognized as one of the greats?

If Harden ended his career today, his jersey would still be retired. He has 3 all nba first team awards in an era that is stacked in the guard positions as a Rocket and multiple playoff appearances with a couple going deep. That's ****ing huge.

If anything I have learned as an NBA fan, it is that things can change real fast for a team.

If Harden has another "quit" performance in a playoff series, if Chris Paul doesn't work out well, we may be looking at a rebuilding sooner than we think, especially with the ownership change looming ahead.

Remember how ecstatic we were when we got Dwight Howard to pair up with a Harden who were approaching MVP status? Remember how fast that bubble burst on our face?

I am not saying that it will happen and I definitely pray that it won't. But when you've been there for so long, you learn your lessons and know that what looks very solid can fall apart faster than you brink.

    actually there aren't

not even Lebron or Kawhi with their 10 day rests would have single handedly carried the rockets to 55 wins / 3rd seed overall

I hope that the organization is loyal enough to return the favor to him when he has passed his prime.

    LOL @ rebuilding

    so that's your genuis option?

if you are a $2B team, 55 wins, 3rd seed overall, 1 superstar team lost to a vastly superior multi star team in the playoffs, with a top 4 player who can attract superstars locked up for 6 years, you simply don't go into rebuild mode.
you either make it work with him or trade him for a package which allows you to continue contending.

    so when will
"we may be looking at a rebuilding sooner than we think"

what does the rockets need to reach next year in order to avoid the "rebuilding" you are talking about?

We should ask D'Antoni to never leave the Rockets. If D'Antoni leaves likely because of age, Harden will be a happy a Rocket?

Morey gonna trade his ass to Siberia for the draft rights to Kostuzus Borizingus and a 2nd round pick, if Morey is still around by then.

Harden gets a ring for Houston. Gotta retire his jersey that season.

I'm curious. What player would a straight up trade for Harden be considered a win for the rox? LeBron? Steph wouldn't even right?

if you ask me not even Lebron straight up

if he needed 10 days of rest last year playing with Kyrie and Love and ended up wth 51 wins in a weak east

how many days rest woud he have needed if he played with the rockets all by his lonesome? and how many wins can he muster by himself in a stacked west?

even Lebron will dread leaving the comfort of having 2 stars in the east and going to the west with a bunch of roleplayers.
