They will give him every chance possible to make the playoff roster. He will have to be really bad to not make it. At what point do they determine he had been too bad? I don't know but they aren't there yet.
Maybe we can give him a DL stint to work on stuff and then come back? That seems like the best way to determine if he's hopeless or not.
not sure how that will determine anything. He doesn't appear to be injured or have anything lingering.
Say he has some made up injury, give him a chance to work on his control, and then come back and see how he does. Seems fairly straight-forward to me.
I thought I read Liriano claimed he was having trouble making adjustment to pen. Specifically he was finding it hard to warmup fast enough. Maybe a DL stint would help him focus on making the necessary changes? I don't know but at this point we may be left with hoping Sipp finds his pre 2015 ALDS game 4 8th inning self.
Great play by Marwin. Gonna guess both he and Bregman get tomorrow off with Correa back, at least that's what I hope.
That poll. All 3 of those guys joining the team are extremely important to this team's playoff hopes.
Tonight we saw the importance of know which players to hold onto and which to trade; and a little luck. Joe Musgrove was almost dealt last year for Carlos Beltran. Luhnow wouldn't do it. Musgrove failed as a starter; but now has given up like 3 runs in 20+ innings out of the pen. He came into today's game with the bases loaded and got out of it and went two more innings. We could have easily lost this game without Musgrove.
YES. Been a while since we had more than a 2 game winning streak. At least it feels like it has. Sweep em tomorrow and then we get to see some good stuff in Seattle.
Musgrove may have also been sent down if Astros made a trade at deadline for a good reliever. Right now, he's looking like a good reliever in performance and in stuff. Not sure he'll be one of highest leverage guys, but he looks like he'll at least be a very good middle reliever going forward.
Time will tell but with the movement and added velocity in the pen, I think he has a chance to be a top setup man or closer.
