[Official] Texans Off Season Thread

Desperate? They traded their 4th receiver for a backup QB. The Patriots needed a WR/KR; the Colts needed a backup QB who wasn't 50 years old.

 

The Colts don't need promise. They need someone who can play now as LUCK recovers. Plus I think Weeden showed some promise when he led the Texans over them.

Yeah, they traded their 4th receiver for a guy that would be a 3rd string QB on just about any team. I'm not sure "desperate" is as accurate as "stupid" would be.

 

Why? The Vikings O line is absolute garbage. In some ways, it makes the Texans O line look good.

Is Braxton out week 1? If so, we only have 2 active WRs.

 

Time for the offensive genius to pull some things out of his hat.

Tyler Ervin might/will see some time at wideout.

Yes, Jaelen Strong is on there but is suspended week one, is on the suspended list & does not count towards the 53.

 

Also, look for them to make some pickups during the week.

I think we have to consider the possibility of him being stubborn enough to retire. Honestly he should have already been back by now and there's only at most 1 more week before the Texans stop even considering contract talk....and I don't think they'll start contract discussion with him until he shows up. If this week passes with him still holding out then he's likely gone till week 9, if he doesn't show up week 9, he's retired.

 

I thought that Will Fuller was out with a broken collarbone.

 

Sure would be a shame, he'll be all but forgotten as a Texan. Has to be one of the most unsuccessful holdouts in recent history.

 

For sure, going out like this would ruin any chance of him being remembered long term similar to Dunta Robinson (remember him?). Only someone like Andre Johnson has the reputation to bounce back from a nasty exit like that.

 

Texans gotta be all over TJ Ward...that's a no brainer given our cap space and need for safety.
