I would love more info, but so far looks like the cop was in the wrong. Not sure why he was so insistent if he couldn't produce a warrant.

lol of course he's in the wrong, he can't just demand blood like that. The Hospital would be getting sued up the buthole so their reasoning is sound. This ****ing moron went one step further and tried to pin it on her, and then resorted to "I DONT LIKE IT SO IM GONNA GET PHYSICAL AND ARREST YOU" bullcrap. He should be fired, and charged.

If she would just follow the officer's orders, there would be no problem.
She is clearly out of control and a danger to those around her.
She's lucky she didn't get popped for disobeying his commands.

    (Am I doing it right?)

Bigtexxx could you perhaps relate this incident to Trayvon Merton in some way and explain to me again why he deserved to die.

Officer is on temporary leave until all this can be sorted out.

Cops are so used to making ppl do what they say (or else), when they get into a situation where they give an order that can't really be enforced, if they are mad enough they still inflict the or else. They might ultimately lose, but they win that battle whether they're right or wrong

You can't MAKE someone draw blood. What if she would have resigned that moment? No longer an employee. He probably would have done the same thing. Rage enforcement.

Hence why we need to up the salary of law enforcement and up the education requirements and selectivity.

The bar is too low for so many departments around the country for the amount of trust and responsibilities we lay upon them. It seems like not smoking weed is the only prerequisite you need to enter law enforcement now.

Without a doubt more militarized weapons would have helped the situation.

Any bets that the nurse bumped her head getting into the police car?

    Sad.

Cops are poorly trained. I think this plays a bigger role than racism in these viral incidents.

I think what will eventually be determined is that the order given by the officer was an unlawful one and he'll likely be either fired or sent back for retraining since he clearly didn't know the difference.

Yeah retraining at a minimum, maybe fired. I think how it works is, a court order to get blood overrides your right to decline it (where you can be restrained to have them draw it), but even a judge-signed order can't command any particular employee to perform it. He was way off base there.

I would say this event combined with this statement warrant firing. I know hes joking, but ethically this comment is awful.

I'm not sure about that though. If there was a court order for the blood to be drawn then it could be interfering with a police investigation if someone who draws blood at that hospital refuses to comply with what would then become a lawful order. If the cops have no warrant though the nurse has no obligation to comply.

^Oh, no sorry don't claim to know.

Seems like the hospital would just have to get someone else to do it, it would really surprise me if a warrant could force someone to conduct a blood draw... seriously what if she had said she quit, in that moment, no longer works for the hospital? It's no longer her job to do so.
