So in one day, Texans gave $108.25 million of contracts, including $61.7M gtd, to WR DeAndre Hopkins, TE C.J. Fiedorowicz and FB Jay Prosch.
NFL.com's Lance Zierlein expects Texans LT Duane Brown's holdout to extend into the season "if (a) deal isn't reached now." In addition to working for NFL.com, Zierlein is a Houston radio personality with connections around the league and especially to the Texans. Zierlein's dad works in the league as a longtime offensive line coach. Brown is undoubtedly especially peeved after the Texans handed out three contract extensions on Thursday, including DeAndre Hopkins' megadeal. Tom Savage appears likely to enter the season without his blindside protector.
Duane is going to be back before game 1. I seriously doubt hes willing to part on millions when we could just cut him if he sits out that long.
Good news but he did it all wrong. Should have held out for a few day to a week max and then joined camp to be ready for the season. Now he's not ready for the season and he's gained nothing the negotiation front. Terrible play.
Agreed, but we may have a field goal accuracy problem And make no mistake. We're probably kicking a lot of field goals
