Not even parting with our son at Hopkins this weekend made us emotional, but I felt a lump in my throat watching the long lines of people offering their services as volunteers. That was some image. Perhaps something good will come out of this catastrophic event - that people understand they can live with each other, regardless of anything.
I'm in Louisiana and was supposed to get to Houston this weekend. Is there a point even trying? Seems I-10 may be closed for awhile.
Can someone help me find a photo they just showed on Channel 2, should be able to find it on click2houston weather photos right? It was from user bj cheney, brazoria 521/332 bridge, but doesn't come up on the search. Maybe they just showed it on the news and it's not in the click2houston gallery. Edit: nm found him on facebook.
No idea, but when I tried to drive on Will Clayton the other day it was completely closed off because it looked like a lake. I'm talking an actual lake. It cleared up yesterday, and you can drive on it now, but no idea what damage had taken place prior. I would err on the side of "expect the worst."

https://www.cnbc.com/2017/08/30/har...-stricken-homeowners-are-unlikely-to-pay.html Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and the Federal Housing Administration have announced that they will offer forbearance for at least 90 days to borrowers in the Houston area. The mortgage backers could extend forbearance for up to a year. The Mortgage Bankers Association is putting out fact sheets for borrowers, sending loan data to the Trump administration and launching a Harvey web page.
Whoa would be nice if I can delay my payment a few months. Does this extend to all lenders or only those listed? I don't know how it all fits together. I do know I have an FHA loan.
I can't even express in words my appreciation for the people and the city of Houston for all the support everyone has given. This is a truly harrowing situation that has galvanized our city and our state. I am proud now and always to be a Houstonian born and bred. We will rise above this tragedy and show the world the power of our community. Thank you so much for all that have helped and continue to help us. God Bless.
I qualify for forbearance but at the end of the 3 month period, those 3 payments will be due all at once. What's the fkn point of forebearance then? It should just extend the life of your loan for an additional 3 months, shouldn't it? That's how it was for my school loans.
Another cool example of people making the best of a bad situation to help others... Trapped Mexican bakers make pan dulce for hundreds of Harvey victims over two days
