I had a flight out to london today that got cancelled. And I ended up cancelling my europe trip (london to amsterdam to scotland back to london) since I figured I don't want to deal with the uncertainty of when I would be able to fly out next. I wonder if I could have flown out tomm or friday?
16k is a lot. I dont know, but it would have been the christian thing to do to prepare for this flood and have the doors open for the the community and its members in case their houses got flooded. I am sure several of the employees/staff/officials were in flood zones and they could have organized something. But i dont care. Its kinda funny. I am not sure his rep went down this week and he will probably be stronger after all of this because all press is good press.
Good old joel osteen. never a more fitting avatar. Bible James 1-3 "Come now, you who are rich, weep and wail for the misery to come upon you. 2Your riches have rotted and moths have eaten your clothes. 3Your gold and silver are corroded. Their corrosion will testify against you and consume your flesh like fire. You have hoarded treasure in the last days "
Don't worry, it will stay in warehouses until the coast is clear. Only way is if a truck got caught in water, or if a warehouse got extremely flooded, and I think they'd be extremely conservative with those risks: Wednesday, Aug 30 9:00 AM A carrier delay has occurred Angleton, TX, US Tuesday, Aug 29 11:30 AM A carrier delay has occurred Angleton, TX, US Monday, Aug 28 8:30 PM A carrier delay has occurred Mesquite, TX, US So ridiculous though tracking incoming crap over here awaiting overflowing river floodwater, trying to get crap we already have off the floor.
So today is probaby gonna be clean up day for most businesses and doors will start opening tomorrow. Good news is it does not rain until monday.
That is what I noticed today when heading to my office in the Heights. We are in a warehouse park right on 6th & N Shepherd. All of the businesses right along the bayou got destroyed it looked like. Most of them had doors open and bringing all their stuff out. We got lucky and were within about 1 foot of having water in our shop.
