http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry...451e4b063ae34d9ebf3?ncid=inblnkushpmg00000009 FoxNews pulled from the air in the UK. Lack of viewers..........and Murdoch's trying to skirt regulators.
While its nice that the UK has the smarts to not buy into the fear mongering hate channel that is FoxNews, I'm still skeptical that Murdoch wont be able to get through his power play for Sky news and subtlety run a Fox agenda under the Sky platform and name. US viewers of FoxNews were conditioned for years with Right Wing Hate Talk radio like Rush Limbaugh to catapult their channel so it wasn't the shock to the system that Fox would be over in the UK as it was testing to the audience over there that isn't subjected to Rush and others already. However... there certainly is a more nationalist minded viewer over there that with the proper messaging can easily be grabbed as we saw with the Brexit folks. I anticipate whatever Murdoch puts together with Sky will be more Teresa May style than Donald Trump style, but its a dangerous entry point to spread the disease of nationlism. Its important to know that soft nationalism, and Donald Trump hard right hate often lead to similar outcomes in the end. Its just soft nationalism is much more palatable.
not really. It's super clever and addictive. I consider a lot of my family members smart, savvy people, but they get endoctrinated and addicted. It's so very biologically human to have an "enemy" and an "other" to fight against, to hate. That enemy is "liberals" and people of color, primarily. I'll never forget an Xmas visit (and I've described it before): every time they showed a riot somewhere in the world, with burning buildings or burning cars, or even burning trash cans, they would scroll a little unrelated news item with the word "Obama" ever present. So it's genius: in the subconscious mind of the viewer, Obama + world = terrible + burning. It was 100%, 24-hrs per day crafted like this. Genius. Terrible for America and the mental health of our citizenry. It may eventually lead to genuine civil war. But it's genius.
