Of course I think there is hypocrisy in how Osteen and many televangelists operate as a business to profit off of preaching the gospel, but I just don't think its appropriate to go on a character assassination at this time on this current situation. There will be time to evaluate what he did or didn't do in due time. If he truly did shut his doors and didn't offer appropriate assistance as any Christian would do, then he will pay that price, but for now lets just hold judgement please.

He's not masquerading as a preacher, and as much as you hate the guy, he's helped mobilize federal relief pretty well. That puts him over Osteen in my book.
this person claims to be at the church and that it was most definitely flooding. No idea who she is. from yesterday: photos here suggest it was flood http://newstalk1130.iheart.com/feat...17-08-29-the-truth-about-joel-osteens-church/
Fake news!!!! That's the underground parking garage. As seen in the video, there's absolutely no flooding on the main floor and floors above. You can literally walk up to the entrance and your shoes will be dry.
TIMELINES ARE IMPORTANT WITH THIS STORY On Sunday the surrounding area of Lakewood was flooded. This has been confirmed by local (non-Lakewood affiliated) security on the ground that day. This was the day Lakewood made the post about being inaccessible. (CONFIRMED on SNOPES) The waters receded on Monday - that is they day they began preparations for relief. That is also the day the social justice warriors took photos and video of the non-flooded area. .
when was the video (link pls) taken? those top two photos do not look to be of an underground parking garage. I have no idea one way or the other.
I don't care about this. My problem with all these preachers is the if you want that so and so such as a new job pray to God Christianity is about salvation. So many of these mega Churches are way off That being said seeing this criticism and his defenders on Facebook is a bit silly
That's exactly what I thought they'd do. Back when it was the Summit I was down there pretty often and I knew that part would flood if they didn't pump it out.....but that has nothing to do with the rest of the building. If your basement floods, that doesn't mean you can't let people into your house who are seeking shelter.
I guess this is the main issue. Most of the area is stadium style seating unlike GRB or the astrodome. It isn't ideal for a bunch of beds.
I doubt that. This is the perfect opportunity to get good press if he could help. I can tell you that it would be really hard to set up a big relief shelter right now. It takes people and resources and organization to get the job done. Many people that could maybe help pull this off may be trapped in their home by flood water just like me.
Yeah, but he can't go left, he is a decent midrange jumper guy, with ok handles and quickness but he is all right handed. And I do find religion hypocritical and do think Joel is feasting on the suckers of the world. DD
I am of the same vein Those complaining the loudest are: 1. Non Believers 2. Non Church Goers 3. People who don't like him anyway I won't defend him because I just don't know . . . I do know you cannnot unlock the doors and say . . .HAVE AT IT Rocket River
Some news outlets have already addressed this, but the SJW's would rather believe some random Twitter users smh
I, for once, am in complete agreement with you. S*itsteen wasn't the only one with closed doors. The obnoxiously gigantic Woodlands Church wasn't open to anyone. We'll see plenty of their advertisements during tonight's Astros game, though...because churches should advertise on tv.
Sorry, no; no private organization or facility should be expected or obligated to take on boarders, there are all kinds of additional costs and responsibilities that they may not have budgeted for and that if not paid would incur separate civil and/or criminal liabilities. University of Houston let summer students stay on campus during Allison, but they didn't provide any dining services and all the facilities were closed. They certainly didn't let any outside boarders in and I'm pretty sure they aren't now. Honestly all the Facebook posts prior to the storm about "Hurricane parties" and whatever, we just need to grow up about storm evacuations, infrastructure and taxes.
