Khou just iterviewed some women rescued from Sagemount and all she could do was complain about the smell inside GRB and the mentally ill people. Talking about no showers and stuff. You can always leave. Go out in the rain. This isn't motel 6, we are experiencing the worst disaster this city has ever seen. Suck it up buttercup.
I just can't believe Pasadena has been hit by 40+ inches because compared to other places my area is bone dry.
It depends on the drainage patterns around you. My parents are ok despite being in a zone on that map where anywhere from 30-50" of rain have fallen and the Barker reservoir's water is being released and flooding homes (they're just outside the evacuation zone). What's crazy is our backyard would flood all the time in a heavy rain when I was a kid. Either my dad fixed that or ... I dunno.
Yeah I saw that And then she complained about the prices for breakfast at Hilton. LMAO. Either suck it up or go out and seek what you want. Can't have everything.
At least she's complaining about conditions, and not restrictions/rules that make life more bearable for everyone. I remember one of the then katrina evacuees being interviewed, complaining about rules and **** in his shelter here: "see, that's what we just came from" (the dome in N.O.), looking super clean nicely put together, matchy clean clothes/sunglasses. It was regarding the curfew. WHen they were interviewing people in one of the few last grocery stores open, one lady in line started screaming at the reporter that she'd been there for four hours, holding an overflowing buggy full of food waiting to check out. He reminded her at least she was one of the ones who got in (they closed with ppl waiting outside who couldn't get anything), and told her it's not like she has anything better to do. He should have left that part off, she was having none of his counter perspective. The lady coming off the boat rescued from her flooded home: "the only reason water is in my house is because of these boats going by." There was another guy pulled over, van broken down, couldn't get to a shelter. The reporter knew of a shelter near him, and said he was going to help him get there: "I want to go to the mattress mac one." Can't blame him for that, but I love misplaced emergency complaints
Anyone know if 99 heading North and 290 heading West are clear? Maps seems to show some slow moving traffic but roads as passable. Any help is appreciated.
Just when it looked like it was leveling off, falling short of the predicted curve as of yesterday. Here we go!
