Okay just saw on ABC 13, they were getting people out of their homes in the neighborhood near me. They were probably 3 blocks away from me and I'm seeing some posts that water did get into homes in my area.

I remember the flood of 94. Wanted to get to a friend's apartment on the east side of 45 (the ones behind McDonald's). Had to park at the then Kroger and swim across the freeway.

Some of the nicest neighborhoods in The Woodlands are being evacuated due to Spring Creek. Rayford Road has 10'.

I can't stand sitting here and watching from the safety of my home. I want to help but there's no way out of the The Woodlands right now.

Thank God you are safe. When the roads are drivable, if you need a ride anywhere for anything, send me a PM and let me know.

And many people died in an immovable traffic jam from Houston to Lufkin. No gas, horrible heat, no food, no restrooms, no water, it was an absolute nightmare. And, they ended up in the worst of Rita. Houston had minimal effects by comparison. Only most vulnerable areas need to be evacuated and that is hard to determine in a hurricane that does what this one has done. I don't fault the city.

As soon as everybody else would have heard of it, there would have been a traffic jam.

I had no idea what this hurricane was when i returned from my vacation the day before it started. When friends were telling me about it I was like OK yeah another hurricane that will probably only mess up galveston and we get one night of rain in Houston with some winds. Then they started talking about how they downgraded it and now it's a tropical storm which I had no idea what that meant. Now I fully understand a tropical storm means get out of the city if you're in a flood zone and it's gonna flood for days.

Praying everyone is okay! My parents came up to Dallas(Bedford, actually) to stay with me and they came at the right time. Thoughts and prayers for everyone out there still!
