That really sucks, hate to hear that he's going through that. Also, that doesn't bode well for my childhood home that is about a block away from there. Hopefully he won't be waiting too long for a lift.

I think 100 died attempting to evacuate back in 2005 and there was no flooding. How long would it take to evacuate millions of people? the evacuation would have had to been underway around Monday. Then there are those idiots* who discredit the meteorologists, laugh at them and say they just want to cause panic this is what they live for, so those people would still have chosen to ride it out.

    *like myself.
From now on, I will take these hurricane threads seriously!

Nice break from the rain here in Shoreacres. Water isn't receding fast but it is receding.

Thanks for loading that picture. Several people, near twenty I think, died between Houston and Lufkin in that nightmare. The Lufkin loop was completely stopped, it didn't move all day Friday before Rita hit. My wife and I filled our van to the top with food and water and fed people all day until the winds picked up and we couldn't continue. That was one of the best experiences of my life followed by one of the worst. Three trees hit my house that night and I lost over 60 trees altogether. My roof had to be completely replaced. Clean up literally took three years. Several friends showed up with the winds still blowing to help me. I will never forget it. The pictures of people helping people in the Houston area today are very heartwarming. Gives me hope.

Houstonians are amazing, as are all the other texans helping out. If there is any silver lining, it's watching the human element, the selflessness of others during times like these.

I don't give a **** about showing class towards someone who doesn't deserve any of it. Bobbytheflake is a POS and I have zero regard towards what happens to him And if you see my previous posts in this thread with my boy @DudeWah , you'll see that I'm very sympathetic to what's going on. I grew up in Hurricane central at it's worst (SFL), so don't start that.
