For those of you wondering what conditions are like in a certain part of town....My buddy showed me the map feature in snapchat, which will let you view pics submitted for any area you want on the map. Has been really useful today.
Fish is just trying to ride out the Harvey flood. His outcome not as promising as Harvey Hawk, me thinks.
Without knowing the exact reason, I would guess they can't guarantee its not contaminated. God, I left Houston 5 years ago, but I know how this goes for y'all. This one seems even worse than Allison or Ike..... Much love to everyone down there in H-town. Hang tough and stay safe!
No. That is quite an ignorant statement. There could very well me a lot more rain coming tonight and tomorrow. CAPE has increased drastically off the coast which means the atmosphere is very unstable and storms will intensify as they develop and move inland.
No, the storm is sitting on the area for the rest of the week. The worst of the flooding is about over with, not the heavy rain. As the storm wobbles around the region over the next week, it should give enough breaks to let some of the water drain off. The question remains will it be enough to significantly drain off for the city to start replenishing supplies and letting people get out and about. What I dont understand is this was predicted. Why did they not encourage heavy flood zones to evacuate. This is not your typical storm that blows through after a day or two and drains off. This storm is not stalling. Its setting up camp and has no intention on going anywhere until it burns itself out.
The European model paints a much less pleasant picture of what Harvey will do than the NWS prediction I saw.
Just dipping out into the gulf for a minute to power back up to hurricane status, before one final run.
Wait a second, this storm is moving that slowly?? I am flying into Houston on Wednesday and by the look of things, that doesn't seem too likely anymore.
One hour sleep in 48 hours. It would be great if everyone stayed calm and thought rationally during this catastrophe. I love Houston!
I know that I am known for being a smartass on this board, but I will be completely honest here. My family lost 99% of our belongings in Hurricane Ike. It's just stuff. It's just shite, and all replaceable. 9 years later I have a house full of crap like every other good consumer. Count your blessings and take care of your people. You will come out of this and be a better person for it.
