debate over evacuate vs stay is silly, there are tradeoffs and risks to either option people have to use their own judgement
Good to hear! My parents are out in SL and when I talked to them yesterday and today, they just seemed overly nonchalant about this weather situation and it just bugged the hell out of me.
Funny enough, when my grandfather bought the property originally, pretty much everyone thought it was ridiculous that he'd buy land that far out in the middle of nowhere. They said "no one is ever going to want to live that far out". Oddly enough, the property values in that area have actually gone up since the flooding started to become more common because people are tearing down the old houses and building elevated million dollar houses.
Is that really true? On the Weather Channel they keep saying that Houston will continue to get hit for several more days.
Nice satisfactory conclusion to that... I didn't realize it actually aired, my feed cut out before they got him. The station must have just lost what they send to satellite providers, and OTA actually aired. Reporter: "Where will you go now? Are you guys gonna take him somewhere? Rescuer: "Aaaaah..." And every time the reporters have to tell the rescuee afterwards, that they were the ones who saw them out there on that roof or in that car, and flagged down a rescuer for them (sticks microphone in face and pause)... this would make for a better story if he hugged me now! You will hug!
This makes me so sad. I left Houston about 20 years ago but don't think I'll ever stop being a Houstonian.
I've been checking in on my people in the New Territory Greatwood area and they tell me it isn't bad over there. thank goodness. My little sister at HEB stocking up on stuff because they have the ability to do so. Lines are long. My people tell me they are going to turn off the water in Fort Bend.. is that true? why?
I don't know what you are looking at, weatherman, but bands keep coming and coming and sitting down right over Houston.
THese reporters! Snuggling up to him for the dagger, he knew he was wrong for that last question as soon as he asked it. Immediately 180'd and aborted the interview. So that bag's all you have now huh?... What's in the bag?"
Stayed with my parent out in alief. We've been very lucky because at leat two times we were an inch or so from getting water inside the house. Thankfully the water has cleared. stay safe, boys.
