Spend less money creating things that cause these problems (concrete, freeways, roads) and spend it creating things that will mitigate these problems (expanding bayous, creating dedicated run off areas that can retain water and double as public spaces like Cullen Park).

I'm near 59 and Sugar Lakes/Williams Trace. The lakes are at more than capacity, but the streets are clear.

Anyone have information about 59 and 762? Heard before the north and south bound lanes were closed?

I have to make an emergency drive to corpus...apparently getting out of houston is becoming a challenge..

I wish these newscasters would come at me, because these people are in need of some help.

It was still that way after Allison. The feds came in and bought out lots of homes in Arbor Oaks and a few in Inwood Forest that had flooded a handful of times.

That's what I don't get. How can property values be so high in an area that's so flood prone? I don't care how close in you are to downtown.

This is nuts. I don't think its stopped raining in the Heights for close to 24 hours. Every time it looks like a gap is opening up on the radar it either misses us, the gap closes or the storm shifts a little.
