Well the water has gone down quite a bit where I'm at...so that's a cool thing. Watching how bad it is elsewhere is just surreal.

If no one has mentioned it yet, you should keep an eye out for high tide. No, I am not kidding.

Not the same, but this one has flooded roads as well.

I'd cross reference this one and the Waze livemap to see locations to avoid if you are forced to go out there.

Shouldn't the weatherman know the name of the storm?

    "It's just a little rain!"

    Parroted by the uneducated.

Everything I've seen is saying that it's going to head S/SE back over the coast enough that it will keep it together but won't add any strength, then cut straight north with the eye over Houston. This will push all the crap on the dirty side of the storm that we're going through about 90 miles west. We'll still catch some, but nowhere near what we've had the last 24-36 hours. Then it will continue north, where it will run out of steam eventually. If we can make it through tonight, we will catch decreasing daily amounts of rain throughout pretty much the entire week. Again, that's what the NWS's latest track is saying per channel 13. That could change at any time.

Starting to think I underestimated the amount of alcohol I needed for this hurricane...

Just heard on that when this is done HOuston might get 50" of rain from this storm. That is what Houston averages a year for precipitation.

Where'd you get that? Every rain total forecast I've seen tops out at the 35 at most.

It's time for the Governor to call for a Dunkirk style mobilization. Every Texan with a flat bottom boat needs to head to Houston.
