Look for a lot more activity tonight over your area and much of Houston. CH.13 just said look for 10 inches of rainfall and several tornadoes throughout the night.
This is a great radar out of College of Dupree. You can toggle the controls at the bottom. You may have to reload once or twice on a mobile device.. http://weather.cod.edu/satrad/nexrad/index.php?type=HGX-N0Q-1-24
where in the SB? Westview here. I can't remember the last time it flooded. tornadoes in spring branch? I laughed . then I googled and realized there was a tornado 2 minutes from where I live(westview) back in 2015 that destroyed a "cantina" on long point. That's how little I pay attention to the local news. I just thought it was some essays that destroyed it for insurance money for the owner. Thanks for scaring me for tonight. =(
That feeder band talked about earlier has made its way to the Houston area. Possible tornadoes with this band moving through.
I grew up in Spring branch. Hurricane Alicia's eye went right over my house, and tore up my neighborhood off of Westview between Blalock and Bunkerhill.
All my relatives in Houston are lackadaisical about Harvey. My sister lives out in League City (elevation of her house is 7ft, according to my SUV) and has had the same place since the 1970's. Called to see how she was and to keep an eye on the weather and she says, "Remember what we did the day Carla hit Houston? Dad took us to the movies, and when we got home, a tree had fallen through your window. This is nothing." Her middle name is Stubborn. That is what we did the day Carla hit, though. My family likes going to the movies. It's an inherited trait.
This rain better hurry up. I really don't feel like driving back home tomorrow and going to work on Monday.
Imagine all those idiots that were like "it's all good, I got a party to go too, blah, blah" it's gonna be a smack in their face come midnight
Little bit of thunder, not much of a big deal. Looks like the out of loopers to the north are taking the big stuff.
Galleria area has been extremely mild so far. A few sprinkles, small wind, a little lightning, no power outages, no flooding, some sun, dry streets half of the day today.
