I can't, it would completely destroy his legacy losing to an amateur and would make the entire "sport" look like a joke.
If this is a spectacle and is being choreographed like many suspect , MAYBE the decision is out of his hands... ....... ....... .......
You keep saying the UFC champ is an amateur. Basically, I see ppl mention three main fighting skilz of UFC fighters, which they want to at least be at a professional level in and at least one to be expert in. Stand-up fist fight, Stand-up kicking skilz and wrestling/grappling skills in all its forms. So, if you are saying a champion UFC fighter can be an amateur at the Stand-up Fist Fight skill and still win big against other UFC fighters, then it kinda makes that "sport" look like a joke, too. Either the Expert best in the world Fist Fighter guy can also attain UFC fighter championship status, or you're just being biased about one skill is not needed at all to be UFC champion, or Conor isn't the amateur that you say he is.
UFC isn't boxing though HP. Just like Tennis isn't badminton. I am going to read the results tomorrow in the paper because no way am I staying up to pay for a PPV. Not after being in Vegas for the disappointing Mayweather Pacquio fight
He's an amateur boxer, sure he knows how to throw a punch, but if boxing is a real sport, there's more to it than that.
Seems the other way around to me. If an amateur fist fighter can be a champ in UFC, then that skill apparently is not that important, or they are simply not that good at it. Help me out here? I'm not seeing why you are giving a 29yr old reigning champ that excuse against a 40yr old retired boxer who hasn't fought in 2yrs. Your argument here is knocking Conor's skillz down to having an excuse against a 40yr retired boxer, in case he gets embarrassed. You sound worried Conor will be embarrassed, such that you are working so hard to give him an excuse. But by taking Conor down to your argument level, you simply expose your argument to saying UFC champs are great at 2 of the 3 main skills, but are nowhere close to being the top experts at the fist fighting skill.
Okay, when it comes to Conor McGregor's stand up game, he's pretty terrible at boxing, Nate Diaz absolutely destroyed him when they tried to go the route of straight up throwing fists and that's why he lost the first fight between the two. In the second fight, he started in with the leg kicks from the beginning of the fight because he knew he couldn't box with Diaz.....well Diaz isn't a boxer either. A highly skilled boxer should be able to murder just about anyone that is an MMA guy if they are just exchanging punches. Now if this was a kickboxing match, I would give McGregor a much better chance at winning.
