I've got enough junk food to feed an elephant and enough booze too kill one.

I believe those are called "spaghetti" models to show the projected path of the storm.

Would be nasty if the storm comes back this way after making landfall in Corpus.

The Atlantic and Gulf was active that year so the temps weren't as high. Every storm is different though
Which is exactly what I said, but at the same time the flood control could definitely be better. Houston was not planned in the best way. Any native Houstonian knows that. City let developers do what they want and annexed later. Or worse, let developers do what they want and then only annex commercial strips of land and leaving the residential to fend for themselves (taxation without representation for the unincorporated areas). Too much stress on Harris County which means roads aren't as good as they need be, drainage isn't the best it could be, etc. I brought up the GP example and it was built so quick so developers could make a quick buck on all the land around there. Not sure what the "commie" part is all about. We just need better infrastructure here.

The metro area council has got to come up with a solution to help fix some of this. Whether that means giving up some unincorporated areas and commercial strips to let smaller cities form and control their own local area. Work with the Army Corps on better bayou flood control (and maybe set limits on how close housing can be to them).

He's referring to your belief that the government should actually do something.

His ilk tend to expect government to do nothing and then reinforce it by voting in people who spout the same thing.

Hopefully FEMA will be on top of their game should any intervention be necessary. Not to get all political but the efficiency of FEMA in this potential state of emergency will be a big deal should any citizens need any assistance.

Hurricane has a decent shot of being a cat 4 at landfall.

"Let the rich developers and corporations handle stuff like flood mitigation. It'll be better this way. They know what's best for the city"

Is suppose to rain straight on stop until Friday, if that happens and the storm comes over.

This will be the biggest amount of water houston has got since I've been living.

    Media downplayed it at first

If/when the hurricane hits your neck of the woods, please take and upload copious amount of pics and videos.

But stay safe. Don't nobody live stream your own gruesome death.
