I really don't think that NY wants Melo there for training camp. It seems to me like they're holding out until the very last minute to see if a better offer will somehow materialize. I'm still confident that something will go down as we approach the start of training camp.

Yeah i agree (even though i don't think Gobert is a franchise player), was justing thinking about Gobert being our center...welp, back to reality.

I also wonder what they're going to do now, i mean, their team is just not good enough overall, but they're in a situation where most of their young guys are going to get paid (Gobert, Ingles, Rubio and Burks already are), Hood, Exum, Favors...are they really going all in with this group? I think they should fake a injury to Gobert and tank one year lol

IT and Crowder for CP3? Man, what is going on in here? Why?

Sure, they can choose to hold Melo hostage if they think that's a good idea.....and it might not matter, everyone knows the Knicks are a joke of an organization anyway, so it's not like anyone could think any less of them as is.

That said, while Melo is an upgrade over Ryan Anderson, 33 year old Melo isn't THAT much of an upgrade over him. I'm not sure what the Knicks think they could get for him, but so far they've clearly been delusional.

That deal isn't nearly as great as you're making it out to be. IT is set to make max money. . The Rockets are NOT going to trade the best pg in the NBA for that. We already have 3 guys that can do what Crowder does, and draft picks mean nothing to us right now. Harden is in his prime and wants to win now. Your proposed trade offer doesn't get us anywhere close to the Warriors.

Why not? CP will be 33 at season's end. His best years are behind him. He is in his 12th season. IT is young and explosive (and the same age as Harden--meaning they will age together), and Crowder is that D. Green-type piece that has been helpful to the Warriors.

I am not saying it will happen (I like CP), but Houston would consider that if offered. Why do you think they won't? How many more years do you think CP has?

Gobert might not be a franchise player right now, but he's their only hope to have a cornerstone player now that Hayward is gone. They don't get high level free agents, and they're too good to tank for a top draft pick.

I think they'll just continue to try and become a consistent playoff team for the next few years. That's good enough for a lot of organizations.

Wait, u think that pairing Harden and IT in the backcourt is something that we should consider??? That backcourt is getting cooked every night. U think that Morey wants to pay IT's next contract?

Morey will try everything in his power to keep CP3 here long-term. How many more years do u think IT has? Miniature PG's that rely on speed don't age well. CP3 is aging like fine wine.

I kinda understand what you trying to say but i dont think it will be a good deal from cleveland's point of view. why would they offer young talent for an old talent?

Exactly why i thought about that, if they don't tank they're tied to be mediocre for years (probably a couple, until Gobert leaves them), which is probably fine for them ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I hear you . . . I am not saying it will happen (at all). I was really just responding to the poster who says CP3 is not leaving Houston and implied that CP3 has ultimate say so in that. I think CP3 has little choice in the matter, and I don't think Houston would keep him for his aging talent + great personality alone. I am with you... I don't actually think the deal works.

    Love the sign...

Was throwing out an option that I thought would be attractive to Houston. I think there are other options HOU would consider. Only point I am making is that I don't think CP3 is untouchable. I see many disagree. Fair enough.
