Isn't that after it does what its supposed to do at Corpus? Hits Corpus, sprays us down, goes back into the gulf, reforms into a tropical storm and heads up the coast. That's the European model. We don't want that one.
just stay out of my electricity mr. harvey. I don't know if I could handle 7 days in August with no A.C and no interwebs . Last time 2008 it was in the middle of September and there was some breeze.
[THIS IS BEING DISTRIBUTED IN FACEBOOK. NOT SURE IF TRUE] Below from Randy Russell: Got this from a friend and I verified it. It is legit. I just got off the phone with a buddy (who I have not spoken to in some time) who left me a voicemail on my cell instructing me to call him back. His father is Steve Radack, who is the Harris County Commissioner for Precinct 3. He said that Army Corps. of Engineers and every flood control district within Houston had an emergency board meeting this morning. Mr. Radack was briefed on their findings and has relayed the following information to my friend, who just told me the following: Harvey is supposed to be much worse than expected, and worse than Allison. At this moment, they are projecting 10,000 homes under water and approximately 100,000 flooded homes around the Houston area. Colorado County is projected to get 50+ inches of rain, with surrounding counties taking on over 30+ inches. The storm is expected to hit the âheart of Houstonâ and everything South of Katy is expected to be devastated, including Galveston. The storm is projected to last for 5 days, moving very slowly, and most of Houston is expected to go 3 days without electricity. Put differently, according to the findings of this emergency meeting, the storm is supposed to be âcatastrophic.â There remains a possibility that it becomes a hurricane by the time it makes landfall. The projections that are out on the local stations right now are allegedly 1/3 of the reality of the situation in an effort to curb widespread panic. He also told me that FEMA and the National Guard are already in NOLA in case there is a repeat of 2005, or something similar. Harvey is supposed to arrive in Houston sometime late afternoon/evening on Friday. If this information looks to remain accurate over the next 36 hours, you might want to consider making arrangements to work from home on Friday. I will let you know if I am made aware of any other relevant inside information. Be safe.
Hope it doesn't turn into that. But I did make sure that my flood insurance didn't lapse. I'm right around BW8 and I10. I asked my mom (Texas City) if she wanted to ride it out up here, but she refused. Hopefully not a mistake. EDIT: If you search Steve Radack on FB, you'll find a lot of these posts. Some are the opposite, saying they've called his office and they denied it. But I guess just be prepared for a lot of rain.
Not saying this isn't true but if they know that now why don't they start having voluntary evacuations?
they are... http://www.khou.com/news/mandatory-...some-coastal-cities-ahead-of-harvey/467041358 wait...sorry...you meant Harris County. That article is about other counties.
Distributed on FB. All I needed to know that it's Fake News. NHC isn't putting out lies on the forecast track. Oh, and btw it's been a Hurricane since 10am today.
Also- Ive seen it 3 or 4 times and it always changes. One said their buddy was in the Army Corps, another said their cousin's friend was a person working for the national hurricane center, ect. Definitely fake.
Pretty sure it's the same guy whose cousin voted for Trump but had his ballot switched to Hilary when he submitted it. The post is fake but the potential for that kind of mess may not be zero. Nobody can tell you exactly what this storm is going to do. It's been cited many times in this thread but spacecityweather.com is all the info you need delivered in a calm and collected manner.
