Some of these weather guys are jokes. How could they not anticipate it strengthening over that hot tub called the gulf of mexico?
My house could use a new fence and maybe a new pool heater. I need it to just take out those 2 things.
Yeah, there's a difference between panicking and being prepared. It's hard to argue that emergency storm supplies are a waste of money because they can always be used later. You can always drink water even if you don't need it. Would suck to need water and not have it.
Alright can someone tell me wtf this thing is going to mean for Houston? Last night it seemed like we were expected to not get more than a few inches. The above pic looks like we could get 20+. I'm in Clear Lake (near the water) if that matters. Trying to figure out if driving to work downtown tomorrow is going to be an issue.
From Spacecityweather.com : Should check out their blog they update regularly and have been pretty good with forecasts.
If you fear this storm, leave now so that you will be more relaxed. If you leave later, it will be even more stress. Granted if it is similar in '08, they already have a freeway plan of all directions going north on 45 and 69 unlike in '08 where people got stuck for hours on the freeway. Remember fill your gas now because if it is bad like in '08 with no power, you will be waiting in line for hours for gas, or hours looking for gas stations that are open. Ike struck around Friday, Harvey seems like it will be on the weekend again. It might be a blessing that it is happening on weekend when most people are off.
Is The Woodlands far enough north to avoid the bad flooding? I'm boarding my dogs at the PetSmart in Shenendoah, but they're wanting me to have a backup to come pick them up in case of evacuation. I have a backup in Huntsville if I need it.
This is looking very bad for Texas.. This is the exact type of scenario that people always talk about but you hardly see.
