Bregs might be a 30 homer guy within the next 2 years. Scary how good that guy can be.

You think it doesn't?!?? Do tell......

The young guys' OPS production has increased .150+ on average vs '15.
    ______

Besides that ONE sentiment you misconstrued...... here's the other quotes you dismissed ....

    1) "Fan anxiety" being the ONLY reason in hoping for current un-slumpage.

No.... HISTORY is a huge factor. Astros have been on-pace to match/break/set records both franchise-wise and MLB-wise... if they don't, it's HISTORY, not just "fan anxiety".

    2) Disregarding the WCG as possibly hurting the '15 team.

You did use the '15 season's playoff surge as justification for current/'15-Sept suckage, right? Well, the '15 team's wack Sept may have aided the downfall because Keuchel got burned in the WCG and couldn't start 2 games vs KC.

    Talk about that.... don't delete.

    3) Disregarding the young players' 2015 postseason underachievement of your self-proclaimed "subpar" 'stats relative to '17.

Yeah, that happened.... talk about that, don't delete.

It's a game day thread dude. People are making comments based on the status of the game. When it is going bad they naturally make negative comments.

This isn't the "how do you generally feel about the Astros 2017 season thread."

Maybe this isn't you but I've noticed some posters take comments from game day threads as feelings generally about the season. It's merely a fan reaction to what is currently going on at that exact moment they are watching the game.

It should be noted in its proper context.

So he'll be back in 2 months after complaining about the unsupportive front office.

I myself have kind of been avoiding the forum because we have rampant sand in vagina syndrome during a rough patch. We suck, Hinch sucks, Luhnow sucks, same ol sorry Astros.

The offense has not been good this month, and people are somehow drawing a line between that and not adding Sonny Gray (or whoever). The concerns about Keuchel and McCullers are legit, but our struggles don't have much to do with pitching. This team is still really good and this team will score runs. Whether we win 110 or 95, the August slump won't be what hurts us in October.

His role on the team is "defensive specialist," which has been mentioned countless times by the announcers. That throw to home sailed way the hell off the mark. Granted, it looked like he threw it awkwardly, probably trying to get out of his glove faster, but where that ball was hit a defensive specialist should have at least made it close if not an out at home. He also hits home runs occasionally as he did tonight. Good. He also can't hit a pitch over 93-94 mph, so I do hope his throws are on the mark from now on, and this was just a fluke. That's what I meant.

BS! Same people whining over and over again about the past when this team has a bright future. Half the comments in these threads don't even pertain to the game. Seems like some people here enioy the complaining over and over again.

this, Marisnick's strikeout rate is far too high to keep him in the lineup if he isn't making above average plays defensively

This team did have the likes of Luis Valbuena and Cris Carter as recently as last year...

Offense has not been good this month...or last month. We have been scoring under 4 runs a lot lately meanwhile our pitching (that you don't want us to connect to that problem) has allowed 4 runs or more in 85% or more of the games in the last 2 months. In fact, they have been doing it all year, it was just veiled by an insane offense. So now that the offense is struggling, we are losing.

Yes, 110-95 wins is incredible, but when you have a start like we did, then this slump puts us closer to the 95 range it is a let down. Looking back on this year in the future, it will look like a great year, but watching it live, watching this elite team play .500 ball for the 2nd half has been tough. Does that make sense? We aren't doom and gloom, just really disappointed in how things are ending. I would have rather started .500 through the first 50 and ended like we started than this way. And like I said, pitching has always given up 4+ runs with our offense covering it up. Then we did NOTHING at deadline. 4+ runs in october will win a lot of the time.

In July and August, they have actually given up 4+ runs 69% of the time. Still a lot, but not 85%. They gave up less than 4 runs over 50% of the time April - June.
