How??? Harden + Paul + misc = no room for Daddy Anthony (to get paid more than the exception). Fuzzy math. Regrets...

Of course. But it's become more and more evident that can't happen. New York won't do something that only involves Ryno

People talk about Gordon like the Knicks want him or something. Knicks want expirings and picks.

This... Gordon was huge last year and won a lot of games for us. Anderson plus another important piece does nothing for us.... I want melo like the rest of us but i don't want to be in the same position with a player who is a risk fit wise

indiana got alot worse and now in rebuild mode
clips got worse not won't even make the playoffs
cavs went from having a young championship calibre PG 3 yrs away from entering his prime that they can build around to having a PG who prolly had his best of his carer year last year and can walk next year especially when lebron ain't there now more

Come on man. You must see the difference between any of those teams' packages received and any package involving Ryno and no first rounder next year.

The demand started them looking, the return was the payment.

Look. People on here are trying to liken any of those trades with the idea of giving up only Ryno and getting Melo in return; and I just think that's absurd. Even Indiana, who are considered to have gotten the worst of the packages, got a 25 year old (while I don't think much of Victor Oladipo he is still seen way more of a positive than Ryno) and a 22 year old on a very friendly contract.

Plenty of room. Once we get team banana boat we will go way over the cap to make it all work. No worries.

    Ok.

The trade may not happen. Keeping Ryno is the worst that can happen. I can live with that and think we are still better than last year.

If Ryno for Melo goes through, in whatever form (2 team, 3 team, ...), that would be badass. As I mentioned before, Morey is good about assigning players a value and sticking to that. We might disagree with the value, but he sticks to his numbers. I don't expect whatever we are offering to change. Maybe a sweetener.

The Knicks seem to have gotten a GM with a clue. The only think we can do is wait it out. I do not think he can be on their team after the trade deadline. If he does, he probably opts in for the extra $24M (or whatever the number is). Which mean something has to give. Buyout, trade, something. Currently, only one trade option, so some hope.

I consider myself an opti-realist. Hope for the best, plan for the worst. So while am willing to accept Ryno with no reservations, I am still hoping for Melo.

I might have babbled a bit.

As much as I’d like it to be the case, I personally don’t think the Kyrie trades puts any pressure on the Knicks to move Melo.

Mainly because I don’t think the Knicks could possibly have thought they had a chance of swapping Melo for Kyrie in the first place. (it is the Knicks though – so you never know)

Celtics query is interesting, because there’s a few angles you could go to arrive at your decision.

For instance on first thought I would’ve said unloading that Nets’ pick for George would’ve been better for them, but then you can go the route of saying well maybe they don’t envision paying IT so getting Kyrie who’s locked up for a while was the smart move for them considering George could bolt.
