Your point was that no team would ever consider taking Anderson cause of his contract, don't try and backpedal now, I've seen you make this exact same ridiculous claim multiple times now.

 

Sorry but Matt Moore is a super fan more than anything. I would not place my bets on him, or Geltz, Kennedy, or Kyler any day of the week. They know hoops sure, but they all are trying so hard for insider status it's kind of sad to watch sometimes. Just stick to what you are good at.

Go re read again. It's that getting Carmelo is going to be way more costly than you guys think. And I'm skeptical that Morey can stomach paying what it's going to cost so the deal isn't "imminent" like everyone seems to think.

If a deal does go down, I just want everyone to have realistic expectations when they find out all the Rockets had to give up to get this done. If Moreys trying to get this done just with Ryno, expirings, and a pick... it ain't happening. If you are desperate to get Carmelo that bad, you are going to have to be okay with giving up more.. including potentially adding someone like Gordon or Capela to the deal if they already aren't.

I'm just putting a disclaimer here that this is a careful what you wish for type of deal, and while yes... Morey is a genius, he can't con people into making blatantly bad deals when Morey is dealing from a position of weakness.

I hope Morey surprises me again, but everyone here just needs a hot dose of reality.

 

We are in a position of power because of the no trade clause. Even if it's just 1 first round pick, the Knicks should take it. These are their two scenarios.

1. Keep unhappy Melo pay him 54 million. Hurt your reputation around the league from acquiring future stars.

2. Trade him to Rockets get a first round pick and save 8 million in salary right now.

One seems like the better deal.

 

It's not the Knicks that I've been saying have leverage. It's the 3rd and potentially 4th team. The Rockets are the party responsible for getting everyone paid. This is exactly the type of deal a GM like Hinkie would get involved with and fleece the team without leverage.

 

I THINK ... for Woj to bring it back up and say they are talking, the talks must be passed the preliminary stage. Unless he lowered his standard working for BSPN and needed clicks.

By preliminary, I mean they have a path to a deal and working out the "manusha" of the plan

You're trying to allege that CBS is lacking credibility in the same way as 3 guys who run their own websites

 

Morey is literally going to pay nothing. Not a chance in hell that anyone of significance outside of Ryan Anderson leaves the Rockets in this deal.

The Knicks are lucky to get Ryan Anderson.

That poster is saying Moore has as much credibility as Burt Steele, which certainly not the case.

 

Melo's value had been established a long time ago. During the season, his list was the Clippers and Cavs. They both offered nothing. Now his list is just the Rockets. We will also be offering nothing. Melo isn't adding any of these teams like OKC, Portland, or New Orleans to his list. The Knicks were reportedly willing to take a garbage offer of Rivers, Crawford, and Pierce from the Clippers, but Doc didn't even want to do that. A deal was close to getting done between us and the Knicks before Perry arrived, and we were not offering much more than Ryno. The Knicks will take a weak package for Melo, they're just stalling and seeing if they can squeeze out a little more value. I do not believe that they're fine with bringing Melo into camp.

I bet the Knicks are warming up to what Detroit would send them in a 3 team trade for Melo now that they realize Melo for sure isn't budging on what team he wants to go to. Anderson is a perfect fit in Detroit and Detroit has a few nice pieces. Tobias Harris would be good for them.
