OKC with KD+Westbrook has never gotten back to Finals since trading Harden. #facts Houston went from missing 3 consecutive playoffs to WCF since getting Harden. #facts How you decide to compare KD+Westbrook to Harden just to make your case shows you are a hater.
what a stupid post. the fact that you think predictions are actual facts says enough. someone obviously didn't understand the point. oh right, when you can't think of anything to say clippers fan. move along kid
i stick to looking at teams and personnel not preseason predictions dialed up by the ol reliable espn
What part of his game did he sacrifice? The team was catered to him last year and he had the green light.
the team was catered to the most success despite having only 1 star - 3rd seed he sacrificed points and rebounds.. he didn't steal opponents rebound or block their tip ins..
don't you think those predictions are based on team and personnel as well? or something else? okay so who's the 2nd and 3rd best player on the clippers as compared to the rockets? and how many years have they had doc as their coach and a system in place?
WHAT!? You mean to tell me ESPN isn't reliable? Here I thought they were being truthful about the entire nation wanting continuous Lakers coverage and Lonzo Ball articles. Lol, yeah ESPN usually screws the pooch on their predictions. They seem to have an affinity for a few teams and it shows in their coverage.
vlaurelio. I can help you with that one. During the Chris Paul era, the second best player on that squad was Blake Griffin, but the third best depends on what you value more. I would probably consider JJ Redick the third best player for the simple fact that his three point shooting was huge for the Clippers. This was instrumental in the Clippers having one of the top best offenses in the league for many years of that core. I would consider Deandre Jordan their fourth best player. Now people might give him the third best player label based on his defense, but I wouldn't for a few reasons. DJ largely built his reputation for defense based on highlight reels of blocked shots. However, when it came to man to man defense, he was not a true lock down defender like say Shane Battier was in his prime or Patrick Beverley is now. So: CP3-1, BG-2, JJR-3, DJ-4. As for Doc, he has been with the Clippers since 2013. That i knew of, he didn't really have a system in place, which may be part of the reason the Clippers never got past the second round. However, Paul was given much, much freedom to direct the offense the way he saw fit. The game usually operated with Paul taking the ball down court and controlling the clock. Fast break play was almost absent under Paul, and playing fast and aggressive like Westbrook was not his style. Paul looked to control the ball and clock in the first half, so scoring in the early quarters was primarily on JJ Redick. However, during the second half, Paul would start to get a little more aggressive and look to score with his floaters or mid-range shots. Bench play was attrocious under Doc because he allowed Jamal Crawford to essentially play isolation ball and chuck shots constantly. Hope this shed some light on those questions. Now to compare those factors with factors for the Rockets...I leave that to you guys, whom would know more than I would.
so based on the previous seasons's wins. roster changes, chemistry built, and other team's previous wins and roster changes, did you think they would have more or less wins during the 2016-17 season? and by how many games?
Part of the context has been lost here. I think you were originally debating with YOLO about Harden versus Paul's success, is that correct? My answer was just to shed light on what level of talent the Clippers had, which was a response to your questions about the Clippers' roster with regard to ranking their players.
yeah but the answer to who was more successful last year would be who had a better team around him at the beginning of the season
so in you unbiased and honest opinion, 10 pts 7 assists while your teammates are shooting at a dysmal 30% in an elimination game against a vastly superior team (6 more wins, spurs, pops, multi superstars & allstars) "was far worse" than 13 pts 9 assists while your teammates are shooting at a decent 48% in an elimination against an inferior team (young team, first time the play offs in how many years?)
in my BIASED opinion, I want to say Paul quit more than harden. Paul is my least favorite star in the league, he's going to have change me. Vastly superior team? lol no, man. We're better than them, this guy just put up back to back bad games, and one of the worst close out games EVER. Paul shouldn't have lost to the Jazz, but he didn't have Blake, but even then Paul is just not a big time gamer he thinks he is. Hate to say it, but he ain't. He's the most pathetic star micromanager ever. With that all said, Harden was worse. Nothing comes close to that, that I've seen in watching basketball in 18 years. Nothing. Dude was checked out more than anyone else I've seen of someone his caliber. Doesn't matter what I say though, you have your mind made up. If you can't see Harden's performance was disgusting then I don't know what to say. This is coming from a Paul hater, nothing was worse than this.
